THE EDELSTAM PRIZE 2024 LAUREATE – MR. DAWIT ISAAK
September 23 came & went. 🇸🇪🇪🇺 Dawit Isaak is still forcibly disappeared in Eritrea. His 25th anniversary passed. His captivity continues! @SwedishPM @kajakallas, how many more years will Sweden & the EU allow this to continue without consequences? What will it take to finally confront Eritrea’s refusal to answer even the most basic questions about his fate? Dawit has lost 25 years. How many more will he lose before the governments meant to protect him finally act? #FreeDawit Now! @SwedishPM @SweMFA @MariaStenergard @AmnestySverige @amnesty @pressfreedom @RSF_inter @FreeDawit @pen_int @PEN_Ertra @TheRWCHR @LantosFndn @RSF_RUG @Tunback @Europarl_EN @EP_President @EUCouncil @EritreaMfa @CPJAfrica @MehariMeng53005 @bergersus @ErmiLiberty @eu_eeas @kajakallas @UNHumanRights @UN_HRC @JasonPoblete @EvaMariaHall @Danait4 @BietelhemI @KurdoBaksi @esayasisaak @Edelstam

Ahmadreza Djalali. Sweden knows his name very well. So does the EU. Yet his life hangs in the balance while years of diplomatic efforts have failed to secure his release. @SwedishPM @MariaStenergard @kajakallas, what will Sweden & the EU do differently to change the outcome? Ahmadreza's life cannot remain the price of Europe’s inaction. #SaveAhmadreza @SweMFA @AmnestySverige @EUparliament @Europarl_EN @kajakallas @ScholarsAtRisk @eu_eeas @swedeniniran @VUBrussel @LucSels @DeGraeveWies @amnestyvl @amnestybe @VMehrannia @Sverigesriksdag @amnestyitalia @bergersus @GeertBourgeois @TheRWCHR @Edelstam @prevotmaxime @tomvdkendelaere @hildevautmans @weimers @DavidLega @EP_President @EU_Commission @vonderleyen @YlvaJohansson @asjohansson @EUCouncil @Free_Djalali @DjalaliFree @vonderleyen @EP_President @EU_Commission @EUCouncil

11 years since China abducted Swedish publisher Gui Minhai. 11 years behind bars. 11 years of words calling for his release. Today, Sweden’s PM & FM marked another anniversary with statements. Both have previously raised Gui’s case with China. But words do not free prisoners. Action does. @SwedishPM @MariaStenergard, China has ignored Sweden’s calls for years. What concrete pressure will you exert to secure Gui’s freedom? How many more anniversaries before words become results? @hildevautmans @javilopezEU @davidmcallister @Nicolasdlparte @SwedishPM @MariaStenergard @SweMFA @AmnestySverige @kajakallas @amnesty @pen_int @UN_HRC @antonioguterres @swedeninchina @EP_President @EUCouncil @eu_eeas @RSF_RUG @Erik_Larsson @KurdoBaksi @RSF_inter @ChinaEmbSweden @bergersus @angelagui_ @Edelstam @Magnus_Fiskesjo

HAW Daily Brief 1/2 Parliamentary Motion Calls for More Active Efforts in Djalali’s Case hostageaid.org/parliamentary… Sweden - Läkartidningen Christian Democrat Member of Parliament Magnus Oscarsson has submitted a parliamentary motion calling on the government to “actively work to secure Ahmadreza Djalali’s release from Iranian captivity and allow him to reunite with his family in Sweden.” Magnus Oscarsson writes that the case of the Swedish-Iranian doctor and researcher is regarded by the United Nations as “a political act on Iran’s part, and Ahmadreza Djalali is considered a prisoner of conscience.” He also points out that Ahmadreza Djalali, who has been sentenced to death for espionage, is in deteriorating health and has been imprisoned for ten years. @VMehrannia @bergersus
