A RIGHT TO THE BOOKS: NIGERIANS DESERVE ANSWERS 🇳🇬
Why hide behind figures when citizens are asking for clarity?
The debate over Federation Account reconciliation and NLNG dividends demands more than press statements. Nigerians deserve transparent records showing how public revenues are received, reconciled, allocated, and disbursed.
The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2011, particularly Sections 1 and 2, establishes the right to access public records and requires public institutions to maintain records of their activities and finances. Under Section 1(2), applicants do not need to demonstrate a specific interest in the information they request.
Yet, transparency means little if it is not reflected in practice. Leaders and public institutions must move beyond declarations and demonstrate accountability through accessible records, clear explanations, and verifiable disclosures.
The books must be open. The figures must be clear. Transparency must be practised, not merely promised.
It is time for a reset. Join the Reset Movement and demand a system where public accountability is the standard, not the exception. 🇳🇬

The right to information is not a privilege, it’s protected by law.
The FOI Act 2011 empowers Nigerians to request public records. On Federation Account reconciliation and NLNG dividends, citizens deserve clarity, documented evidence, and accountability.
This is a clear case of extortion!
Saw this on one of my Whatsapp groups.
EKEDC IN DESPERATION
_____
I installed an 18kW solar power system at my property in Lekki Phase 1, relegating EKEDC supply to a backup status. Since then, I have been having more frequent visits from personnel of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), coming to check my prepaid meter.
On one of those visits, the EKEDC team stood watching the meter for motion to indicate consumption. When the meter wasn't moving, they called me to say they suspected I had bypassed the meter. I told them I had enough solar power for my daytime needs and only used their supply as a backup for the dark hours. To prove this to them, I switched on my inverter bypass for about 2 minutes so my consumption would be from EKEDC. They saw the meter rotating normally. They were visibly upset and one of them mumbled something like "This ọ̀gá no wan gree us chop". They left.
Today (19-Oct-2026), three of them came to my premises with a notice of disconnection. The last time I loaded an EKEDC token was in July 2026 and I still had ample units left. When I asked why they would disconnect me, they said the reason was "LOR" (Loss of Revenue). They said my slow consumption indicates a faulty meter and I had to pay them ₦112,606 for loss of revenue.
I told them my meter was not faulty and that they could test it if they wanted. The lady said they were losing revenue and they had to make up for it.
I didn't know whether to laugh or to be angry. I have no intention of paying EKEDC a dime for its loss of revenue due to my taking steps to protect my interest.
But, I share this story for all who are investing in solar power to know that the DisCos are now desperate. They now have "Loss of Revenue" as a reason for your disconnection from their supply. It is simply that they are not making enough money from you.
I am waiting for EKEDC to disconnect me from their grid before I lodge a formal complaint to the regulatory authority.
We are in interesting times in Nigeria!

Forty years is far too long for the assassination of a journalist of Dele Giwa’s stature to remain unresolved. His killing must not be reduced to a recurring anniversary in Nigeria’s media calendar - @AyLonge of @MRA_Nigeria bonewssng.com/obey-court-rul…

40 years after Dele Giwa was assassinated, justice remains elusive. Tributes are not enough.
@NigeriaGov must implement the court order to investigate his murder and prosecute those responsible.

Nigerian democracy na mockery under Tinubu. Change your phone PIN and lock your phone. Do not respond to any accusations that you must be hiding something. Do not always be too eager to prove that you are not. For a snoopy woman, it is a habit. Your phone being open only feeds that habit.

Today, I watched a “Seyi Tinubu Colloquium” being livestreamed on major television stations, and I couldn’t help wondering how deeply the culture of sycophancy has eaten into Nigerian society.
I remember the days of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, when Aso Rock became the venue for the wedding of one of his daughters to a sitting governor. Another governor also married into the presidential family. Those relationships attracted enormous political attention, but after Yar’Adua’s death, the political spectacle surrounding them faded so also did these marriages.
Today, we are witnessing another manifestation of this culture of power worship.
What exactly has @STinubu contributed to Nigerian society to warrant this elaborate colloquium, attended by so many “prominent personalities” and broadcast across major television stations? What extraordinary public service, intellectual contribution, or national achievement is being celebrated?
Is this about merit, or simply about being the son of a sitting president?
At a time when millions of Nigerians are struggling with hunger, unemployment, insecurity, and economic hardship brought about by his father, @officialABAT we should be having national shaming of the Tinubu regime. Sad day!
