One of the most striking moments of Sweden’s election campaign came during Monday night’s televised party leaders’ debate, when Simona Mohamsson, leader of the Liberal Party and Sweden’s Minister for Education and Integration, appeared wearing a Star of David. Mohamsson was born Simona Mohammed. Her father is Palestinian and her mother Lebanese, from a Shia Muslim background. That made the gesture especially powerful. Mohamsson explained her choice: “I wear the Star of David for the children who do not dare to in today’s Sweden.” She confronted the Left Party over revelations that its MPs had sent letters of support to Palestinian prisoners convicted of terrorist attacks killing Israelis. “I think the Left Party needs to be held accountable for sending love letters to Hamas and spreading fear on our streets,” she said. Her comments followed repeated controversies involving Left Party politicians spreading antisemitic conspiracy theories and expressing support for terrorist groups. Since October 7, pro-Palestinian demonstrations in Sweden have featured antisemitic rhetoric and expressions of support for terrorist organizations such as Hamas, the PFLP and Hezbollah. In the months after October 7, the country recorded nearly five times as many antisemitic hate crimes as during the same period a year earlier. A survey of Swedish Jews found that more than four in five felt unsafe wearing Jewish symbols, while nearly half had discussed leaving Sweden because of antisemitism. Against that backdrop, Mohamsson’s Star of David became a pointed act of solidarity with Sweden’s embattled Jewish community: she chose to wear the very symbol many Swedish Jews now fear to display.

One day after the U.S. signed a deal with the Islamic Republic، the regime in Iran, handed Parastoo Ahmadi 74 lashes for singing on YouTube. They call America the Great Satan. And then they flew to the table and signed a deal with the «Devil«. But a woman’s voice scared them more than any superpower ever could. A regime that whips women for showing their hair and singing, there’s not a normal government. This is called apartheid against women.

Live on CNN, where you, @ebtekarm_ir, gave multiple interviews to promote the Islamic Republic and called out millions of Iranian women simply for removing their hijab, you once laughed at me when I exposed your hypocrisy, now, I couldn’t hold back my grin as I watched you humbled and your kids booted out of America. You once took American diplomat hostage, You step on the American flag on your way to work, you forced us, from the age of seven, to chant “Death to America.” jail women for their hair. You lash them. You blind women like @kosareftekharii simply for demanding freedom, then send your own daughters to America to enjoy that same freedom! We will continue our fight to expose your hypocrisy and to end your regime. #DigitalBlackOutIran‌ #Iran
Replying to @SecRubio
This is Masoumeh Ebtekar, the 1979 U.S. Embassy hostage-taker spokeswoman, once ready to “shoot American hostages in the head, here she responded to my investigation into her son’s luxury life in Los Angeles. She laughs, nervously and claims her son is “just another student” like thousands of Iranians in America, and says he plans to go back. That’s not just misleading. It’s a big lie because he stayed. He benefited. And he represents something very different. There is NO comparison between the children of regime insiders living freely in the West… and Iranian students and professionals who fled repression, risked everything, and are victims of the same regime, I hope the US hear their voices and protect the victims while revoking the visa of the children of Islamic Republic, who support terror. I asked the Biden administration to investigate these networks, just as they investigated Vladimir Putin’s inner circle but No action. Thank you @SecRubio for finally hearing the voice of Iranians.

Mr. @ZohranKMamdani, really? Right now? To be honest, I feel tortured in my own beautiful city of New York, watching you celebrate “World Hijab Day” while women in my wounded country, Iran, are being jailed, shot, and killed for refusing the hijab and the Islamic ideology behind it. Not a single word of sympathy from you. No expression of solidarity. Not even an empty condemnation for the massacre which unfolding right now in Iran. Your silence, paired with celebration, is shameful. You are not standing with women. You are standing with our jailers.
February 1st is #WorldHijabDay! Today, we celebrate the faith, identity, & pride of Muslim women & girls around the word who choose to wear the hijab, a powerful symbol of devotion & celebration of Muslim heritage.

The Russian government suggests that Russian drones breached Poland’s airspace by mistake while the Russian UN ambassador claims it’s a physical impossibility for Russian drones to reach Poland. Which Russian lie are we supposed to believe?

The pivot to Asia is finally happening, except it's a policy of trying to alienate as many Asian allies as possible through a combination of stupidity and malice
1/ S. Korea's entire media establishment across political spectrum has united in unprecedented editorial consensus expressing profound betrayal, outrage, national humiliation, and fundamental breach of US-ROK alliance re: mass arrest of Korean workers at Hyundai's Georgia plant.

Trump: "I'm going to see Putin. I'm going to Russia on Friday." Trump is going to Alaska on Friday — which has not been part of Russia since 1867.

When Ceaușescu did not like the numbers he was getting, he changed the numbers & the messenger at the start. That’s why he had no clue, by the end, what the reality was - every stat, number & fact were false & inflated. Everything was delivered to him hyper inflated. 1/2

One thing is quickly becoming clear about “Alligator Alcatraz,” the immigrant detention camp that the state of Florida just opened in the middle of the Everglades: The politicians running the place are bigger lawbreakers than many of the immigrants they’re locking up. 🧵...

Israel’s Channel 13 @MoriahAsraf who covers PM @netanyahu cites sources for first time that Israel is hoping to end the current fighting with Iran “within the week” in wake of @realDonaldTrump dramatic attacks on Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. If true, it underscores that unlike contention of critics, Israel is not focusing on regime change in Iran or war of attrition. She also says Trump and Netanyahu reached understandings about the impending attacks a week earlier even if inner cabinet not briefed until just before the strikes yesterday. Remains unclear how much of uranium stockpiles of the estimated 400 kilo of 60 percent highly enrichment uranium were in any the three sites and whether they remain unaccounted for.

All those critical of @potus for not getting congressional authorization before attacking Iran are overlooking the historical record that since WW2 99% of the time US presidents have used military force it was without explicit prior approval from Congress.

It’s clear from this that the only difference between Steve Witkoff’s and Vladmir Putin’s views on the war in Ukraine is that Putin actually knows the names of all the five Ukrainian regions he wants to keep.

Trump: “The United States is tired of being ripped off. That's why we have $36 trillion in debt. We have it for a reason, because we make bad deals with everybody.” NOTE: Trump was PRESIDENT for 4 years. Our debt grew by nearly $8 TRILLION under his “bad deals”.
