🔥🥸 same process. SVM is complementary and an upgrade in many ways to the EVM. But tbf, I prefer an ecosystem of parts rather than one massive ledger - leaves more room for experiments. The cypher-punks still live on ETH and Lindy effect says EVM will thrive. SOL will too 🔥
Solana is an amazing project but it is completely different from Ethereum
I follow mert and toly closely, I respect them. I think I've inferred the basic ideology around Solana--it implicitly perceives value of blockchain primarily in its transparency and composabilty as a tool for reducing information asymmetries & other frictions. In this context pushing performance at the expense of things like solo validating makes a lot of sense.
Ethereum is different--it's the OG cypherpunk vision. Its product isn't high-speed finance, it's autonomy. Solo staking is the heart and soul of Ethereum. It cares about an oppressed dissident in an evil country being able to still engage in finance without relying on "a big box in a data center".
