February and March with LIFE on Machair is all about fences! A bigger and better temporary fence in The Valley, Achill this year. Landowners have been working with us since 2022 to make safe spaces for the breeding waders, with great success. Watch this space! #biodiversity

I don’t think enough people have seen this. It’s Kurt Vonnegut talking to his wife about going out to get an envelope (we’re here on earth to fart around):
Always loved sea holly. And bonus bumbógaí!!
Spectacular structure to this sea holly. Lots of this prickly pioneer plant visible today from the #machair, and bumblebees with their pollen sacks stuffed full. #pollinators #BreedingWaders #FarmingForNature
What a weapon of a plant!

Genuine question..... is it churlish, on international women's day, to draw Mr White's attention to the fact that my correct title is Dr., and not Ms.? irishexaminer.com/news/arid-…

Everyone in Ireland should feel the loss on reading the summary of landscape change in the plant atlas 2020. Evidence of tunnel vision in land use policy which I worry is still not being addressed at the level required. plantatlas2020.org/sites/def…

#Invasive species can do serious damage to our waterways and to the quality of angling. Good #biosecurity is essential to stop the spread. Please like and share to spread the word, not the invasives! :-)

Just got cut off on the road out of Sligo by this terrible driver. The experience was made complete by being given the middle finger out the driver's window. What a charmer! @kerrymotorworks
