Thank you @InsideOsogbo. You are right and your poll reflects a real concern that matches the data we have gathered as well.
Youth unemployment and underemployment are the defining challenge of the state, and @Osun_State_Gov under Governor @AAdeleke_01 is responding with skills that will lead to real opportunities.
Recently, we conducted training for digital skills for teachers, trainings in UI/UX, front end web development, training for young people that want to go into farming, training improved Adire making, systems networking trainings, and participants are already getting engaged.
State government recently announced training for Advanced Research Diploma in Artificial Intelligence (ARDAI) which drew 3,438 qualified applicants from all 30 LGAs. That is the hunger for opportunity you describe, and we are meeting it with world-class digital skills.
Governor Adeleke is also working on a complete revamp of how we deliver vocational training for unskilled workers. The goal is to make Osun the hub for the most sought-after artisans in Nigeria. Imagine an Osun with best trained and equipped tilers and POP artisans, presently people with this skillset for most projects in South West are brought in from neighboring countries.
Beyond digital skills, we have already lined up trainings for
- Solar installation and renewable energy
- Modern agriculture, agribusiness and food processing to build the value chain of our agricultural products.
- Improved fashion and textile finishing, we plan to take Adire production and sales global
- Recycling and the circular economy
And the state government won't stop at just training, because training alone isn't enough. Under the leadership of Governor Adeleke, we are also working to link certified training to affordable revolving credit for small businesses, so that our graduates can start and grow their own businesses instead of waiting for jobs.
On creating an enabling environment for businesses and investment, the work is already underway.
State government has simplified the process of obtaining a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O), every farmer and business owner knows this is key to unlocking land as collateral for more investment that leads to development that leads to job creation.
State Government has also unified business registration and tax process, reducing the bureaucracy in getting things done in the state.
We have made serious progress on the Osun Free Trade Zone, which is pulling in different large scale manufacturing businesses.
The airport project is also moving at great speed, this will further connect Osun State to other business environments
Governor Adeleke understands the path: skills, then capital, then enterprise, all built on an economy that is open for business. That is how we build measurable job creation in Osun and I hope we can continue to count on your partnership to help get this message to the right places.

ONE YEAR OF PURPOSE, RESILIENCE AND SERVICE — THE STORY OF A JOURNEY
Sometimes, the most beautiful stories are not written by people who had everything figured out. They are written by people who refused to give up, even when life gave them every reason to.
One year ago, I embarked on a journey that would become one of the most defining chapters of my life.
The journey to becoming the Public Relations Officer of the Great Ife Students’ Union was not a straightforward one.
Before this victory came three electoral defeats. Three different moments when I had to deal with disappointment, pick up the pieces and remind myself that one setback does not mean the end of the road.
I contested, I lost, I learned, and I kept believing.
Then came an unexpected opportunity.
Just seven days to the election, I emerged into the race. Seven days to convince people, build relationships, communicate a vision and earn the trust of thousands of students.
Many would have considered it impossible. But sometimes, all you need is an opportunity and the courage to make the most of it.
Against the odds, we made history.
And just like that, the boy who had lost three elections became the Public Relations Officer of the Great Ife Students’ Union.
But winning the election was only the beginning.
The real work started when the cameras were off, when the pressure came, when students needed answers, when the institution needed communication and when leadership demanded responsibility.
For one year, I had the privilege of serving as the voice, communicator and media representative of a great institution.
It was a year of challenges, sleepless nights, strategic engagements, difficult decisions, institutional collaborations, advocacy and unforgettable experiences.
From communicating critical information to thousands of students, amplifying the voice of the Union, engaging stakeholders and contributing to initiatives that positively impacted our community, every experience taught me something new about leadership.
I learned that public relations is not just about speaking; it is about listening, building trust, managing expectations and taking responsibility for the words you put out.
There were moments I got it right, moments I could have done better, and moments that tested my patience and resilience. But through it all, I remained committed to the responsibility entrusted to me.
Today, as I look back at this journey, I am reminded that the greatest reward is not necessarily the title, the recognition or even the applause.
It is the people whose lives you touched, the relationships you built, the lessons you learned and the difference you made.
And receiving this award of excellence after one year of service makes the journey even more meaningful.
To everyone who believed in me, My General!! supported me, challenged me, criticised me constructively and stood by me, thank you.
To the leadership of the Students’ Union, Family,my colleagues, friends, mentors and the entire Great Ife community, I am grateful.
But beyond the award, I hope my story inspires someone watching this video.
Perhaps you have contested and lost. Perhaps you have been rejected, overlooked or underestimated. Perhaps you feel your opportunity has passed you by.
Let my story remind you that three defeats do not cancel the possibility of a fourth attempt becoming your breakthrough.
I came into the race seven days to the election. I had lost three elections before then. Yet, I eventually got the opportunity to serve.
Never allow temporary disappointment to become a permanent definition of who you are.
Keep learning. Keep building. Keep showing up. Keep preparing.
Because sometimes, the opportunity you have been waiting for will come when you least expect it.
One year gone. A lifetime of lessons gained.
OREOLUWA JOSEPH OLOWOSILE.
Erstwhile PRO Great Ife Students’ Union.
One year of purpose. One year of impact. One year of excellence.
And this is only the beginning.
