Research is a public good that we must all protect. Canada has research strengths in areas such as computer applications, fuel cells, personalized medicine, quantum computing, regenerative medicine, the list goes on. It is time to invest in research and build a better future.

If I’m not careful, one of the heaviest weights I can find myself carrying is that of other people’s expectations. There is so much freedom in letting go and focusing instead on living out my own values to the best of my ability.

Happy International Women’s Day!
“I have the same advice that my parent gave me, to never give up on your goals. As Rumi said, “As you start to walk on the way, the way appears.” As a woman, achieving your goals may require resilience to overcome barriers, but it is crucial to stay persistent.” -Elaheh Khozeimeh

We booked a flight with @WestJet to go to Kauai and booked a place through @Airbnb. Our flight that was set to leave at 6:00 pm, finally got cancelled at midnight due to weather. Zero options for rebooking and we were told that getting a refund will take a month.

Why are people not at the centre of decision making and policy making? Why are the financial benefits of the airlines given a higher priority than supporting the customers/all Canadians?

A suggestion: check airline performance every 3 years and if they don’t provide good service to Canadians, cancel their licence and give the option to other private airlines. You will be shocked how quickly they will improve their performance.
