🇺🇸 CALIFORNIA OPENS REPARATIONS AGENCY - PAPERWORK FOR JUSTICE Sacramento just launched the California Bureau for Descendants of American Slavery, the nation’s first official reparations agency - or as critics are calling it, “The DMV of Historical Guilt.” Governor Gavin Newsom signed the bill with his usual flair, declaring it “an infrastructure for justice.” Which means, the state’s about to spend millions building a bureaucracy to discuss spending billions. The agency’s mission? Verify ancestry, process claims, and make “recommendations” - which is political speak for stall until everyone forgets. No checks yet, just committees to decide which committees will eventually form to study the committees that might cut the checks. Civil rights groups are calling it “historic.” Fiscal conservatives are calling it “insane.” And Californians are calling their accountants to figure out how to move to Nevada.
