yes,open code free model works,a member is using it.
But if you want more of the tool and no hassle you will need claude code.

local video generation tool will still outperform Editing Pipeline that rely on Paid Api.
Native editing via claude wont save your tokens.
some Saas usually charge per minute to pay providers for sourcing,or rendering which is dumb.
The reaper is Local,all files that makes the workflow run are in your computer,and you are free to build cool stuff with it even if you use codex or open code.
