America lost a wonderful writer last week - Norton Juster. His classic children’s story, The Phantom Tollbooth, inspired generations of children to love words and to delight in the power of knowledge. And his warnings about the “Mountains of Ignorance” rings true as ever today.

Big news - school meals will be available this summer! Great that the Department of Agriculture is extending universal meals through the summer - no child should go hungry in America!

Wearing masks while we’re getting everyone vaccinated is just common sense - the reckless discarding of COVID precautions in Texas endangers millions of people and could lead to many more deaths.
I just announced Texas is OPEN 100%. EVERYTHING. I also ended the statewide mask mandate.

The landing of the Mars Rover Perseverance was years in the making and shows what we can accomplish when we work hard together. Can’t wait for more pictures from space!
Scan this image for the various pieces of my landing system, which did their jobs perfectly before coming to rest on Mars. Teams of experts poured years of work into each one. My safe landing is what tells you they nailed it. go.nasa.gov/2NsKVK0 📷: @HiRISE #CountdownToMars
We need to honor the tragic loss of so many loved ones to COVID-19. One of the best ways to mark the over 500,000 Americans who have died is to pass a new COVID-19 relief package now!
The CARES Act provided much-needed relief to keep transit running. But transit agencies are not out of the woods and neither are the essential workers who depend on transit. We need an American Rescue Plan, and we need it now.

It’s important for everyone who is eligible to get vaccinated when it’s their turn. Only together can we defeat this virus.
This afternoon, we announced that we’re increasing the weekly vaccine supply to states to 14.5 million doses starting next week, up from the 13.5 million we announced last week. That's an increase of almost 70% since we took office just over a month ago.

America lost two great giants in the last year with the passing of Reps John Lewis and Elijah Cummings, champions for equal rights and an even more perfect America. Let’s honor their memory by continuing the fight for justice for all! #BlackHistoryMonth

Heartbreaking that 500,000 Americans have died from COVID - with vaccines rolling out we need to keep wearing masks and social distancing for a little bit longer to keep everyone’s loved ones safe!
