Chasiv Yar. Just a few years ago, this was an ordinary, quiet little town in the Donbas, with a population of around 10,000. One of countless towns like it, where life moved at a slow provincial pace and nothing much ever happened. Now, with the arrival of the Russian fascist plague, it has become a lifeless wasteland of Hiroshima-like ruins. Fighting over this vast graveyard is STILL going on, ever since the end of the Bakhmut meat grinder in the spring of 2023. Of course, there will never be life here again. Almost all the surviving residents have long since fled. The entire local economy and infrastructure have been completely destroyed. And the few who remain will, sadly, die among these ruins, joining the dead in yet another ghost town of what used to be the Donbas. Russia has no use for these worthless, empty ruins. They will be forgotten forever as soon as they get their 20 seconds of airtime on Kremlin TV, accompanied by triumphant reports of yet another glorious victory of Russian arms. And that will be that.
