Understand while ao3 is down, writers are getting 0 recognition during this time. No happy emails about kudos or comments, no checking to see if anyone glanced at their fic that day etc
I've seen my fics in people's drives already, I'm okay with it atm but if you do read my or someone else's work through the dealings going on
Please PLEASE go show that writer love. Let them know you appreciated it etc and when ao3 comes back leave a kudos or comment or both

it only hit me recently how insane it is people do not understand adhd.
its like asking someone with a broken foot to run. they can do it, it really sucks, and they want to be able to run but they cant.

Pls try your best to find the authors of fics you read while weโre surviving on pdf of fics. Writers are already sad when they publish on ao3 and receive little feedback. Now their fics are shared around completely untethered to

Idk maybe instead of relying on the Internet Archive and peopleโs download collections it would be a nice time to actually build the community thatโs been sorely missing in the fanfic space lately and reach out to your writer oomfs whose fics you were reading or had on hold

the worst thing to come out of this is people saying stuff along the lines of "you can't be this affected over losing your porn/yaoi." you guys do know that not everything on ao3 is porn and ships, right? not all fics are ship fics and not all ship fics are porn

As a writer, I acknowledge that my fics are downloadable and therefore spreadable using Ao3. I just donโt think itโs asking much for people to return to Ao3 & leave a kudos if they enjoyed the fic. Especially since so many of yโall act like you canโt go an entire day without it.
