Today I had the opportunity to join @GovWesMoore and DPSCS Secretary Carolyn Scruggs for an eye-opening simulation experience, illustrating the reentry challenges that individuals face following incarceration. I had the distinct pleasure of being “Jamal” - a two time, formerly incarcerated individual, out on parole for a double murder.
The most frustrating part of the simulation was the roadblocks that continued to stand in the way of my successful return to society, something witnessed by almost everyone participating in this exercise. I want to commend Sec. Scruggs and her staff for putting together an excellent program that really highlighted the barriers formerly incarcerated offenders face when trying to obtain housing, employment, fair wages and services necessary to successfully reintegrate into the community.

Today with sponsor @Embry4Delegate we launched the fight to bring justice to vulnerable road users by replacing Maryland's contributory negligence standard with a fairer one that recognizes that a human being hit by a car driver suffers more than a driver in a crash. – at Baltimore, MD
