When you're the one responsible for engaging, I think it's generally safer to assume your target has Flash available if you haven't tracked it.
The risk of assuming they don't have Flash, overcommitting, and getting baited into a losing fight is simply too high.
With that in mind, there are roughly four ways to approach the situation:
1. Engage in a way that gives the enemy no time to react with Flash.
2. Set up the engage so you can still secure the kill even if they use Flash.
3. Go for a quick trade to force their Flash, then disengage without overcommitting.
4. Commit to the fight without worrying too much about whether they have Flash.
The Flash cooldown of a key enemy champion can have a massive impact on teamfights, especially in the mid and late game.
That's why I believe tracking enemy Flashes is an important responsibility for support players.
You don't necessarily need to track all five enemies perfectly, but at the very least, you should know whether the most fed enemy champion has Flash available.
That single piece of information can completely change how you approach a teamfight.
But sometimes i am lazy to track it in solo Q
I've always said, playing against your friends is a lose-lose! You lose, you've lost. You win, your friend lost 💔
LOS Ackerman 🇦🇷 on potentially facing TL Josedeodo 🇦🇷 in a Worlds elimination series, before the draw pairs them against each other:
"No, I think I’ve changed my mind now. I don’t want to play against him, I don’t want him to eliminate me or me to eliminate him."
"I wanted to play against him, but at this point, honestly, I’d rather avoid it. I have a lot of admiration for him, so I wouldn’t want him to suffer. But if it happens, it happens."

There comes a point when a man’s inconsistency stops giving you anxiety and starts giving you the ick.
And that is a beautiful day.

Patch 26.22 Preview!
Hearts go out to Cyanide and saddened to hear of his passing 😭; on top of being an incredible player, he was a super funny guy and many of his quotes are legendary. He will be missed :(
Mel
- Mel's mini-update will be Live on Patch 26.22
- When we released Mel, we intentionally went for a new ability that was pretty ambitious; we like to try to push the boundaries with new champions and mechanics to give players new puzzles to solve with each release
- After being on Live for a while, it's clear that many players feel that Mel's reflect was too frustrating to play against
- There are things in League that are allowed to be frustrating, as that can create a feeling of triumph when overcoming it and challenging players to grow, but there are some things that are too frustrating even given those upsides
- Realistically, every champion should have something that they do uniquely that other players might feel is frustrating
- So we're reworking Mel's W to keep the feeling of destroying projectiles, but not have it hard counter some subsets of the roster
- We tried many versions of Mel's W that tried to retain the reflect, but we couldn't find one that would hit the mark for Mel players and would be satisfactory for opponents
- We know this is disappointing for Mel players and we're sorry we couldn't uphold this end of the contract with you all
- That said, we hope this will allow Mel to be balanced at relatively higher resting power levels and be more effective for Mel players
Systems
- Overlord's Bloodmail has been pretty weak overall and it's pretty hard bound to Sett as currently tuned
- We're looking to try to buff this for other users who should be interested in an item that converts Health to Damage (Mundo, Sion), but some aspects of the item make it too Sett skewed [eg. the missing HP portion]
- Doran's Bow has been a bit too strong relative to Doran's Blade, especially at higher levels of play
- So we're looking to balance out the relative tradeoffs of the items a bit
- We're overall happy wtih the direction of how the tradeoffs are playing out though! Just that the magnitude is a bit off
Some popular Korean streamers have made comments suggesting that Support players are the least skilled players at any given rank, or that a Support player's true skill level should be considered several hundred LP lower than their actual rank.
These kinds of statements have contributed to a culture of looking down on Support players, and I've noticed a decline in the popularity of the role since this narrative became widespread.
Let me use a military analogy.
Imagine comparing frontline soldiers to communications specialists or medics, and judging all of them purely by their combat ability.
Communications specialists and medics should be evaluated based on how effectively they support their teammates and contribute to winning the battle, not simply on their individual fighting ability.
I think it's fundamentally wrong to question whether they deserve the same rank just because they aren't as strong in direct combat.
Of course, there are exceptional support personnel who can fight even better than frontline soldiers while still performing their primary duties. But those are exceptional cases, not the standard we should expect from everyone.
The same principle applies to League of Legends.
When players from other roles gang up on Supports and belittle them by applying the same standards they use to evaluate their own roles, Support players often try to defend themselves in a polite and diplomatic way rather than responding with the same hostility.
And the irony is that even in those moments, Support players are still supporting you.
I don't think they even realize that.
What people don't understand is that Drew decided to come on twitter entirely on his own, it was never a part of his job - he just wanted to try and understand the community better and give people some more knowledge into what Riot's doing/thinking about the game
His account was the only reason that for months players actually had another option besides spamming messages to Blitzcrank Bot in support, and that community problems could be voiced to Riot much more easily (take the state of FlexQ and bought accounts/boosters, which are way better than they used to be)
But as a community, what did we show him? Not too much outside of the fact that we're full of drooling losers who are willing to literally fabricate information if they can dunk on someone for a few likes. They accused Drew of dunking on people when what they were doing was infinitely worse (Riot Zac XD). Would I agree with everything Drew said/did? No, but he's also human. And when you're literally using AI to make up images to accuse them of being a pedophile, constantly bringing up their religion and use that as an insult, creating hate thread after hate thread, and so much more, you're not helping improve the situation for ANYONE, and I honestly wouldn't blame him if he just decided to dip and never come back.
I can't say much more than it's just straight up embarrassing. Every time someone from Riot steps up to be a voice to the community, someone who we can actually reach relatively easily, we fuck it up. Every. Single. Time. We let the worst in the community have the loudest voices and ruin the experience not only for us, but for the Rioters as well, giving them realistically zero reason to continue going out of their way to help, and we inevitably end up back at square one.
We keep complaining about League having so many issues (and I agree), yet for some reason every time we have a decent path toward fixing them we just nuke it for a few laughs. It's honestly disturbing to see.
