I will never forget this scene “First class in medicine and surgery”😂
Nollywood!!!! Please always get medical experts to review your scripts for movies. I stumbled on one movie on African Magic Yoruba today Senior Doctor asked the younger Doctor, what's his vitals Junior Doctor responded, As you can see, he sounds Anaemic. No Doctor says that

Congrats on your admission to pharmacy 🥹🎉 Please don’t go further to hate med students or doctors in the future who got into medicine 🥹
Omgggg, I'm genuinely so happy. 😭❤️ Around April 2025, barely two weeks before my matriculation, I got admission to study Biochemistry. My initial course choice was Medicine and Surgery, but to be very honest, I wouldn't even say it was what I truly wanted. It was more of pressure from my parents (especially my mum) and some of my secondary school seniors. During my first year, I was hoping to do a change of course after 100 level (biggest scam 😭). But after my last exam in second semester, I was randomly scrolling through TikTok when I came across a girl advocating that if you could afford to rewrite JAMB instead of switching courses, it could save you a lot of money and stress. And me? I no dey like stress. 😭 Besides, I'd already started having second thoughts about everything. Being in university had given me some clarity about what I wanted and what I didn't want, at least to some extent. So I made up my mind to rewrite JAMB the following year, while in 200 level, and apply for Pharmacy instead. I wrote JAMB while still attending lectures, and I scored 303. 🥹❤️ Today, my aspiring university released its admission list, and my name was on it. I'm genuinely so happy. I've waited and worked towards this for so long, and seeing my name on that list means more to me than I can explain. Of course, one thing I regret is the school fees and accommodation fees my parents paid during those years. But looking back, I still believe it was worth it. I'd rather spend extra time figuring out what I genuinely want than spend years pursuing a path I chose mainly because of other people's expectations. And I think that's something we need to talk about more. There's so much pressure on young people to get into university as quickly as possible, choose prestigious courses, and follow a timeline that society has created for them. Sometimes, in the rush to meet those expectations, we don't even get the time to ask ourselves what we actually want. An extra year isn't automatically a wasted year. Sometimes, it's the time you need to gain clarity, make a better decision, and take responsibility for your own future. I'm not saying everyone should rewrite JAMB or that changing courses is always a bad idea. Every situation is different, and there are financial and personal realities to consider. But if you're genuinely confused about what you want to study, please don't let the fear of spending an extra year force you into a decision you might regret. Your university journey is not a race. Take the time to make an informed decision about your future. So, when you see me advocating for taking an extra year if you lack the clarity needed to choose a course, please listen to me. 😭❤️ Sometimes, the detour is exactly what you need to get where you're meant to be.

When other professions expand their scope, it’s called career advancement. When doctors do it, it’s encroachment. You people know exactly what you’re doing.
“Proposed " lolz We celebrated 48 years two days ago. Who is proposing something we have always had? We are asking for recognition, not proposing a new cadre. 😀 And yes, we already have ANP (at the implementation stage), whose practitioners will diagnose and manage illnesses

“None of these professions is interested in taking over physician roles” is simply not true. Nigerian pharmacists have advocated for prescribing rights. The proposed Consultant Nurse cadre also includes diagnosing and managing illnesses, which are traditionally physician roles.
Doctors will fight pharmacists. Doctors will fight nurses. Doctors will fight radiographers. Doctors will fight physiotherapists. Doctors will fight scientists. Doctors will fight chemists. Doctors will fight nutritionists. Doctors will fight anatomists. Doctors will fight even porters. A small-minded, ego-driven, and problematic profession. And mind you, none of these professions is interested in taking over their roles. Yet, you'll find doctors everywhere trying to take over other professions' roles and suppress their growth. And then you wonder why healthcare is suffering in Nigeria.

What’s with healthcare professionals constantly dragging each other online? Why is there always a competition over which profession knows more than the other?

If you use other people to measure your progress in med school, you’ll go mad. You could score 70-something in an exam and feel good about it, only to find out that some people scored 80s and 90s. Suddenly, your 70-something doesn’t feel so good anymore.

MDCN increases the number of years doctors must wait for a Certificate of Good Standing, making it harder for them to leave Nigeria. Meanwhile few hours later, Tinubu is receiving a honorary medical fellowship. Everything is starting to make sense now. 💀
