I’m excited to share that I recently moved from Canada to Sweden to start my PhD with @FredrikJutfelt at @goteborgsuni 🇸🇪
I will be here for my full PhD (4-5 years) working on both zebrafish and three-spine stickleback thermal tolerance 🐟

Now published in @MethodsEcolEvol, a practical how-to guide to running CTmax experiments. Should be worth a read if you do or plan to do CTmax experiments. Includes a fillable table (inspired by @shaunkillen) for reporting your the details of your work.

JEB is proud to be sponsoring the @SEBiology President's Medal, Animal Section, award. Congrats to Sandra Binning, this year's winner. Come see her talk on 8 July 11-11:30am in QEH titled 'Sweating the small stuff: Why I (and you!) should care about parasites'
#sebconference
Here are some shots of old and current lab mates at the annual @SEBiology conference🐟
This was my 1st SEB conference, and it was quite a success! I shared my preliminary data for zebrafish swimming performance under varying temp and oxygen levels. Looking forward for next year.

Back in the office today after another great midsommer trip to Kristineberg Marine Station to work with this beautiful group of troublemakers.
(Missing from this photo: the great and powerful @FredrikJutfelt.)
The first chapter of my PhD will be focusing on Zebrafish standard metabolic rate (#SMR) and maximum metabolic rate (#MMR) at varying thermal and oxygenation levels !
Attached are #zebrafish in static intermittent flow chambers and a 3D-printed swim tunnel!
I’m happy to share that my bonus chapter from my MSc @TrentUniversity is finally published in @cjfas 🔔
We investigated thermal acclimation and its reversal in embryos and subsequent life stages of brook trout (a North American native species) 🐟
New things coming to @cjfas !
I’m happy to announce that my 3rd first-author paper from my MSc is nearly published. I’m extremely grateful for all the support given by my previous lab and I can’t wait to add to the growing lit on early life stage thermal tolerance 🐣

How small can you make a swim tunnel ? 🐟
Here are two photos and a video of a zebrafish in a 3D-printed swim tunnel !

📣 Just published in @conphysjournal with @BowmanJacob_ , Chris Wilson, and @graham_raby
How much does upper thermal tolerance vary among wild populations of brook trout? What drives this variation? 🌡️

Now published open access in @cjfas. This one is for you nerds who like swim tunnel respirometry and accelerometer tags.
Led by @TrentUResearch MSc student @ErinRitchiee, work done at CCIW with @sci_angler from 2021-23.
Thanks to @LampreyControl for funding.

Excited to share our new paper in @Ecology_Letters, first-authored by my PhD student @Sweat_Saltwater!
It's a big meta-analysis on the effects of temperature on fertility in aquatic animals with lots of interesting (and surprising) results 🐟🐠🦐🪼🦀🐢🪸

Come work with me and some great folks at Trent (@graham_raby) and DFO! Applications will be received until Nov 8.
This fall I will be handling a new study species and will be learning some fun new methods 🐟📝
