Innovative tests that accurately diagnose UTIs and inform antibiotic prescribing are needed. @NICEComms has identified 4 tests: Savyon Diagnostics and Prize participants @GlobalAccessDx, @AstregoDx and @Llusern_Ltd that could be used in the NHS: rb.gy/8gt2
Ms Hayhurst's vision is clear: she wants to see these tests used in care homes, carried by paramedics, in pharmacies and, eventually, in GP surgeries and hospitals. itv.com/news/2023-04-03/noth…

The Lodestar DX test detects 6 common UTI-causing bacteria (E. coli, Klebsiella spp, Proteus mirabilis, Staphylococcus saprophyticus, Enterococcus spp, Pseudomonas aeruginosa). Results take approximately 40 minutes.
One of our planned care projects has been featured in a piece of draft guidance by @NICEComms. Fantastic to see this project getting the recognition it deserves! 👏 @EmmaHayhurst3 @JeroenNieuwlan1 @Llusern_Ltd

This new, innovative test provides results in 40 minutes, allowing GPs and pharmacists to make evidence-based treatment decisions for women suffering in pain, reducing reliance on antibiotics.
🙌 We are proud to be supporting @JeroenNieuwlan1, @EmmaHayhurst3, Alison King and @Llusern_Ltd in their project 'Tackling the neglected disease in our midst: towards evidence-based treatment decisions for UTIs at point of care'.
Well done team! 💡
