Nichelle Nichols was a force of wisdom, heart, perseverance and guidance to so very many. Her contributions to the world speak volumes. She will be missed & never forgotten. Just look at the stars. #NichelleNichols

with encanto now on disney+ many people might want a bag like mirabel's so instead of buying from companies that mass produce, buy mochilas from the wayuu who make these types of bags by hand! (the prices are in colombian pesos)

Every single creator out there should be hoping beyond hope that they win this.
The administrator of Steve Ditko’s estate filed a termination notice on Spider Man.
It is possible that authors or their heirs can reclaim rights once granted to publishers.
If successful, Marvel would lose rights to Spider-Man in June 2023.

The vaccines are working. Of the 900 cases related to the Provincetown cluster, there have been no deaths, 7 hospitalizations, and the symptoms are largely mild. Our positivity peaked at 15% on 7/15 and was only 4.8% yesterday. The outbreak is contained and Provincetown is safe.

With the latest Dog Man book selling over 900k it would be nice if the comics press took even the slightest interest in kids’ comics and their creators ha ha ha of course not that’s nice going to happen.

According to Publishers Weekly, "Graphic novels made up nearly 20% of adult fiction unit sales in the first six months of 2021, compared to 9.3% last year." I wonder where that number needs to be before all literature departments are obliged to have one comics specialist.

Current hill that I’m willing to die on:
Children who don’t enjoy reading prose books, but find that they enjoy reading comics, aren’t reluctant readers. They’re often really enthusiastic readers, but we’re trying to make them read, in a format that doesn’t best suit them.

These vaccines are miraculously good--far better than we had any right to expect--yet a relentless focus on bad news & rare breakthrough infections means so many people still haven't internalized how much safer they are after being fully vaccinated. The media has been terrible.

Norton Juster, who wrote the iconic, and wildly imaginative PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH, has died. I’m so grateful for this, my most favorite and emotionally complex imaginary world that I often escaped to as a child. (Shout out to Jules Feiffer’s iconic art as well.)

Sometimes a comic or drawing can be like a song you sing around the house. Not trying to break any barriers or be significant, just an expression of a moment, just a strong and vivid emotion, just expelling something from the mind for catharsis. Reminder for me.
