On the 1st Day of Safety, #EHSO gave to me... #HolidaySafetyTip Day 1: Keep candles at least 12" away from anything that can burn (trees, curtains, decor, etc.). Remember: blow out candles when you leave a room or before you try to catch some Z's!

May is also #electricalsafety month at EHSO! When your #phonecharger wire starts to fray, stop using it! This can cause a fire and lead to fatal consequences. Many people charge phones overnight when sleeping, so please check before you charge. #firesafety

Did you know that the majority of fire deaths occur in the home? Don’t allow a hearing disability to keep you from hearing your smoke alarm.
For people who are deaf or hard of hearing, a pillow or bed shaker can wake you up so you can escape. #FireSafety

Before trying to fight a fire, be sure that:
You know how to use the fire extinguisher and it’s the right type.
Everyone else is leaving the home and someone is calling 911.
The fire is small, confined, and not spreading.
