Crypto has given us a lot of things.
Decentralization.
Financial freedom.
New ways to build and transact.
But it has not yet given us something with the cultural weight of :-)
A symbol that every human being on earth already knows.
The inventor of the emoticon rarely uses emoji.
He told CNN he prefers the text ones, “partly because they’re my babies.”
Proud parent energy. :-)

What we need is attention that never fades and is etched into history, along with a fanatical community. Attention alone isn't enough, because it disappears within a short time. :-)
The original had a nose: :-)
Scott Fahlman says the noseless versions only became popular around the 1990s.
So the :) you type today is the younger sibling.
The original is still the one with the nose.

The origin of memecoins is when a community comes together to support a coin. If you expect only dev to put in the work, then be prepared to get farmed.
If you see a coin pump from $10k to $5 million in 1 hour, know that the developer’s friends already control more than 50%.

Hey @grok remove the scam from this image.
I have been lost.
I have been found.
I have been copied.
I have been evolved.
I have been celebrated.
I have been forgotten.
I have been remembered.
Stay :-)
Thank you for all your efforts, @Scott_Fahlman . Despite the buyback, the lock, and the video, the coin still couldn’t beat the bundled coin and didn’t perform as we all hoped. Time to touch grass. :-)
From here on, it’s all back in the community’s hands
Community is dying
I’m still buying memecoins every now and then but it just doesn’t feel the same when it comes to shilling/bull posting them
I think this scenario where everyone is calling 50 coins a day changed the game way too much
We are no longer in the times where you used to buy 1 good coin and constantly bag work
Posting about a meme on X that you really believe in and actually bought with your own money is just not the same anymore
The accounts that last are never the ones that burn brightest at launch.
They are the ones that are still here when everyone else has moved on.
Still posting.
Still honest.
Still building.
:-) has been here since 1982.
We are just getting started
What about SI = Smiley Intelligence :-)
