What we need to complete the squad is right before our eyes:
- Integrate Lesley Ugochukwu as our #6 this January he solves our OOP issues in chaotic games since he's a large spaces covering midfielder.
- Get a box dominator: Samu/Sesko/Osimhen provide us with variety in our play

Geography truly is destiny. If Arteta had been born in Riyadh he'll probably be few miles off Kabul planning the 2nd 9\11

Oh Managers now come to you for elite rankings? 😂 “I was wrong to call Xabi Alonso elite” states his achievements and decided to bullshit that and judged him based on his performance at Chelsea (10 games btw) because it’s fvcking Chelsea (the club you hate most) even though he’s been trying to fix different stuffs, find different solutions and on top it all manage the players available to him
Like I said before and I’ll say it again, there’s a reason Xabi Alonso is the manager of #CFC and you’re nothing more than a mid X tactico
It's all been very underwhelming so far.
I was wrong to call Xabi Alonso elite, clearly, because even though he showed he can elevate an average team into a top team at Leverkusen and that he has elite tactical potential at Real Madrid, his intentions and game-model at Chelsea so far has been really disappointing.
The back 5 speaks for itself. I was borderline arrogant in my analysis of him before he joined the club because I refused to entertain the idea that he would use a back 5 in more than 5% of games. This has not proven to the case, and the issues with that model are so, so clear in the modern game.
As for the back 4 which he has primarily utilised lately, it is also underwhelming.
There has been very little build-up play from goal kicks.
They have an awkward and clunky high build structure with Lavia in the first line, Acheampong in the top line, and Palmer dropping into the pivot alongside Caicedo with Palestra holding the width on the left. Chelsea don't consistently have players high and struggle to progress through the pitch because of that and oftentimes 2 out of their front 5 include a fullback on the wing and a centre back between the lines. The front 3 are often too far apart and can rarely combine because of it.
They press man-to-man from goal kicks which is fine but in open play their 4-4-2 lacks reliable pressure on the ball. They don't have reliable central or wide triggers to transition into a man-to-man press. They try to jump from a mid-block into a man-to-man press at times but it happens sparingly.
And even when they do defend low they often do so passively with basic breakdowns in communication or a lack of intensity with people like Rogers being lax on the left of the midfield 4 or the front 2 not being intense enough. Combine that with some subpar individuals in defence like Fofana and Lacroix and the whole thing is just messy.
Chelsea have some unbelievable quality so they will of course be in and around the Champions League spaces irrespective of their tactical frailties (just like Manchester United were when Ruben Amorim was sacked), but Xabi Alonso was brought in to be an elite manager.
So far, he simply hasn't showed that he is that.
The culture is still not where it needs to be, but I can understand why that's the case because it takes time to resolve a deep-rooted issue like that. Tactically, though, I am incredibly underwhelmed.
The back 5 is doomed at Premier League level for the elites. The back 4 is the way forwards, but even at that the implementation of it has been bang average in every phase, both with and without the ball.
I have said it before and I will say it again - Xabi Alonso needs to show a LOT more.
happy birthday to the biggest “propah chels” that lives
EXCLUSIVE: Moisés Caicedo has just informed Liverpool that he only wants to join Chelsea! 🚨🔵🇪🇨 #CFC
Caicedo has decided to keep his word and only accept Chelsea as personal terms were agreed since end of May.
Chelsea, set to bid again in order to get deal done with Brighton.
If Lavia continued playing at the level he’s recently shown + consistent 90min performances heading into January, would fans want Alex Scott (in January) at all costs. Even in the context of Xabi predominantly using two man midfield?

Rosenior is a top manager. Guys thought when I was backing him in April that I was gimmicking. He'll do well with Paris FC and get a job in the Prem.
I can see him becoming the England manager at some point too, once his CV's beefed up. I know what I saw at Chelsea.
He is top.
Before these lots came into the scene at this club it was a rare watch to see a Frenchman fail or underwhelm at this club but those lots have destroyed the reputation of that great footballing institute..
Replying to @esosapatrick
Disasi, Badiashile, Gusto and Fofana destroying the reputation of an entire country 😭 🇫🇷

Not including our academy boys who still didnt get a proper opportunity like Watson, Jazuli, Greenwood ( level of potential for biggest stage yet to be determined ), these are our 3 generational level talents. I know people will say generational is too strong of a word, but i dont use it for anybody.
Estevao already has that starboy aura to him. He is technically astute, has elite level instincts, and is already a starting RW for Brazil's NT at 19 years of age. Its scary to even think where his potential can take him. Only sky is the limit to what this boy can become
Josh on the other hand is all you want from your defender. I genuinly cant compare him to any other defender out there, and that is compliment of highest order by itself. Tall, fast, strong, top ball carrier, high football IQ + calmness while being only 20 years of age. Josh genuinly has all the tools needed to be best of the best in every single aspect - mentally, technically & physically. Genuinly an unicorn in world of football.
Last, but not least - Penders. 6'7 monster already starting for Chelsea FC while being only 21yo. Level of calmness he possesses is of a veteran who spent decades between the sticks. Very good in terms of ball playing, commanding his area and providing top level saves. His only real weakness is parring, but these things can be easily fixed longterm with coaching and experience gained. There is no other keeper in his age bracket who is this level of talent. If he reaches even half of his potential, he will solve our GK issue once and for all.
These are the 3 guys that can determine how successful we can be next decade, and we should fight tooth & nail to keep them happy and give them enought game time for them to make significant impact and imprint their names in Premier League history books one day.
Special shoutout to our academy for regularly producing some of the best young talents in the country. Cobham is truly special, and will continue to provide us with some absolute young ballers for years to come. Future is Chels 🥶

Arteta has Riccardo has part of the attacking 5
Arteta relies on set pieces to score goals
Arteta doesn’t elevate his wingers
But the excuse is he doesn’t have elite attackers
Chelsea elite players play better through the channel while force them to hold the width?
