Here’s my gift for the day. She thinks having sex with a 9 year old is DISGUSTING when she thinks Trump did it; runs away when she finds out it was Muhammad.
And this business about “protecting our democracy from foreign influence”, Bridget.
Does that concern extend to who writes the rules Britain follows, or is the investigation confined to somebody else’s chequebook?
Your government is pursuing agreements that would require us to follow changing EU rules in specified areas. Explain how British voters retain control over those decisions. Preferably without saying “reset” seventeen times and hoping everyone loses consciousness.
Your manifesto promised no return to the single market, customs union or freedom of movement.
Now Burnham wants an “honest discussion” about free movement.
Those red lines appear to have been fitted with an elasticated waistband.
He says the public would have to approve it. Good. Hold him to that. A mandate for closer cooperation cannot simply be stretched to cover reversing the promises printed alongside it.
And while you’re discussing the protection of Britain, perhaps spare some attention for the unresolved small-boats problem. Border control deserves rather more than a supporting role in the next press release.
Scrutinise political donations. Explain the sovereignty concessions. Deliver control of the borders.
You’ll forgive us for withholding the standing ovation until the protection extends beyond Labour’s electoral prospects.
Who is bankrolling Nigel Farage's party?
What interests are they seeking to advance?
Are they acting in Britain's best interests?
Reform UK are engulfed in sleaze and scandal. Labour will protect our democracy from foreign influence.

Farage: "If those Restore supporters online see that we are the only vehicle, genuinely on the centre-right, that can beat the Labour Party and come back to us, then our polling will start to look very different, very quickly."
Here's what Farage doesn't understand.
We are not a "centre-right" party. Our voters are not "centre-right." The country was governed by the "centre-right" for 14 years, and they brought us to the brink of destruction.
The "centre-right" are, in many ways, the greatest traitors of all. The Left are at least honest about their intentions towards us; the "centre-right" dress it up in a pinstripe suit and posh accent. But their ideology will still see us reduced to a hated and marginalised minority in our own homeland.
You are not going to win our voters over by appealing to the "centre-right."
We are radicals. We don't care what the "centre" thinks of us. In fact, we despise them.
If Farage is serious about this, perhaps he should reconsider the offer we made him in August.

Britain, please remain calm.
Bumbling Burnham’s government says its tariff measures could save households up to £21 A YEAR on food.
Please stagger your resignations. We cannot have the entire workforce retiring on the same afternoon.
That’s £1.75 a month. Roughly 40p a week. Less than six pence a day.
I’ve already contacted my financial adviser. He suggested checking whether I have another trouser pocket.
Apparently, this is part of giving families “breathing space”. At six pence a day, I assume we’re sharing the oxygen.
And before anyone gets carried away and books somewhere with a minibar, do read the wording:
“Could save.”
“Up to.”
Even this modest figure includes tariff cuts introduced earlier this year. The loose change has been repackaged for another announcement.
Labour’s Greatest Hits: Now That’s What I Call Forty Pence.
Among the products covered are gherkins, marmalade and confectionery. So when the household bills arrive, do remain positive. Somewhere in the kitchen, a slightly cheaper pickle may be doing its best.
What I’d like to see is the calculation. How much of that £21 comes from the new measures? What assumes retailers pass the savings on? What does the household actually have to buy?
Presumably those details are being saved for the deluxe edition.
Perhaps next week we’ll get the National Sofa Cushion Recovery Programme. Three ministers, a launch video and a solemn commitment to leave no upholstery unturned.
Find a fiver in an old coat and you’ve personally delivered nearly three months of their headline saving.
I’m happy to pay less for the shopping. I’m considerably less impressed by the expectation that we should applaud a government press release over a possible forty pence.

🚨Thief Jailed for 2 years after being caught in possession of £1 million worth of stolen car parts!
@Kent_cc might want to check whether said thief has been freeloading the taxpayer too!
Car parts worth £1,000,000 have been seized from two sites near #Maidstone and the person running both locations has been jailed for more than 2 years.

“Come back to us.”
What a touching invitation, @Nigel_Farage. Have we reached the part where you remember that the people you’ve alienated have votes? Or that you really need them now?
Where’s the contrition? Where’s the recognition that people might have reasons for wanting nothing more to do with you?
Danny Tommo publicly confronted Zia Yusuf over the alleged “knuckle-draggers” jibe at Unite the Kingdom protesters. Now Restore supporters are being invited back as though everyone’s memory expires when your polling gets uncomfortable.
We haven’t forgotten. You’ve just discovered that you need the votes.
And spare us the grand pronouncements about Reform being competitive in hundreds of seats while Restore might manage one.
Remember the reported prediction that Lowe’s lot wouldn’t even get 1% in Great Yarmouth?
His Great Yarmouth First allies won nine county seats and the Caister South borough seat.
Ten seats. Quite an achievement for a rounding error.
You might want to get that crystal ball serviced before delivering another lecture about someone else’s electoral prospects.
Meanwhile, Electoral Calculus’s October study put Reform on 21%, down from 31% in its January poll. In Scotland, Norstat found 17% of those who voted Reform in May now saying they would back Restore.
Perhaps that deserves more thought than pointing at the exit and shouting, “Oi! You lot! Back in here!”
Here’s a radical idea: ask why people left. Listen to the answer. Address the grievances. An apology might even be worth trying, although I appreciate that would require your ego to vacate the room first.
You don’t acquire permanent ownership of someone’s vote because they once supported you.
And being told we must return because your electoral arithmetic would benefit is hardly an irresistible offer.
A little humility, Nigel. Preferably before the next opinion poll makes it compulsory.
Yours, remembering exactly why we left,
A Gentleman from the Old School. 🎩

High Wycombe’s mayor, Imran Hussain, has accused me of being 'irresponsible and wrong' for highlighting the changing demographics of a Wycombe school.
Wycombe High School has gone from 60% White British in 2016 to just 30% now. Ten years.
I asked if we were able to have a mature debate about how immigration has already entirely demographically transformed our country.
Clearly, the answer is no.
I'm told the town 'stronger because of its diversity, not in spite of it'.
Right. Okay.
I disagree.
Mass immigration has made our towns more dangerous, more divided, more deprived.
For decades, politicians like Hussain have been able to shut down the debate with these bullshit diversity buzzwords - accusing anyone with legitimate concerns of racism or bigotry.
It will not work anymore.
Another day, another Home Office post giving itself a standing ovation.
Nearly 12,000 foreign offenders returned—but your own minister reported 21,294 subject to deportation living in the community at the end of June.
Funny how that number missed the publicity department’s audition.
And foreign-offender returns alone don’t tell us whether illegal entry is being brought under control. Where’s the full picture: arrivals, outstanding removals, delays and costs?
Apparently we’re supposed to look at the carefully selected percentage, applaud politely and stop asking awkward questions.
If controlling the border required nothing more than posting about it, you’d have nailed it.

“Doing things differently”?
A hundred days, Andy, and you’re back to the old “blame Brexit” routine. Groundbreaking. Have you tried switching the excuse off and on again?
Your own Home Secretary told MPs in February: “is Brexit responsible for the boats? I do not think that is true.”
Perhaps get the Cabinet facing the same direction before congratulating yourself on taking us somewhere new.
Which everyday costs have you cut? By how much? What has actually changed?

But I know there’s much more to do - this is just the beginning.

Replying to @DPJHodges
Yes Dan, the Nazis were socialists. Their actual name was the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, literally the National Socialist German Workers’ Party. “Nazi” is simply the shortened form.
And before anyone starts with the usual “but historians call them far right” response, Mussolini himself began as a committed socialist, preached Marxist socialism, edited Avanti!, the official newspaper of the Italian Socialist Party, and only later broke with the movement and developed fascism.
The point you're missing is that nefarious and dangerous political movements nearly always rise under lovely sounding promises about “the workers”, “the people”, fairness, equality and liberation from nasty capitalism, while the people running them somehow never seem very keen on living the lives they prescribe for everyone else.
Even Marx didnt put his own money where his mouth was. He spent much of his life in financial chaos, repeatedly relying on Engels to send him money, while Engels himself earned his living through the family business Marxist theory supposedly regarded as part of the capitalist system. Marx’s own correspondence is littered with requests for cash and complaints about debts.
So your GDR example rather proves the point. Calling East Germany “democratic” didn’t make it democratic, any more than calling yourself socialist, communist, progressive or “for working people” means the people at the top intend to live by any of it.
Look at Labour in 2026. How many MPs have ended up in investigations, expenses rows or questions over money while lecturing the rest of us about fairness, sacrifice and paying more tax?
Only this week Perran Moon was suspended by Labour over the £50,000 taxpayer backed Covid Bounce Back Loan. The working class kept working, and Moon "man of the people" saw an opportunity to fleece furlough.
But THAT is the point, Dan.
History is full of people promising equality for everyone else while sitting on their arse spending somebody else’s money. Starting wars they have no intention of sending their own sons to fight.
THATS LITERALLY THE POINT.
Socialists/communists/Marxists say one thing and do another.
