As we warm up to real summer temperatures by the end of the week, make sure to know the symptoms of Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke. ACT FAST if you feel symptoms of either of these! Move somewhere cooler, loosen clothing, & sip water. If you suspect Heat Stroke, CALL 911!

ALT Stay cool, stay hydrated, stay informed! Know the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Heat exhaustion: symptoms: dizziness, thirst, heavy sweating, nausea, and weakness; act fast: move to a cooler area, loosen clothing, sip cool water, and seek medical help if symptoms don’t improve. Heat exhaustion can lead to heat stroke. Heat Stroke: symptoms: confusion, dizziness, becomes unconscious; act fast: Call 911, move person to cooler area, loosen clothing and remove extra layers, cool with water or ice. Heat stroke can cause death or permanent disability if emergency treatment is not given.
