Dressmaker developer Sabrina Becker says women are still an underserved audience in gaming.
“We were definitely targeting women from the get-go,” “Women are such an underserved market in video games, even though women love video games.”
The team saw how popular dress-up games are on platforms like Roblox and wanted to create a deeper experience for that audience.
It seems to have worked: Dressmaker has over 17,500 Steam reviews with a 98% positive rating, and still averages more than 15,000 concurrent players a month after launch.
The game has also attracted older players, with some reviewers saying it even brought back their love of sewing.

To those who "don't understand" being transphobic: As hard as you try to be nice to them, the minute you make them slightly uncomfortable, they will treat you like a deadly threat. Contrastingly, they will not care if what they do makes you uncomfortable. You are a tool to them.

Skimmed through the episode and go figure, this troon wrote in a scene where he brutally murders a guy for misgendering him. Can't make this shit up lmao.
Having worked at a ton of well known companies over the last ten years and wasting so much time in meetings, yes. This is exactly how it was at every single one of the.

Tim Sweeney has done a lot for the gaming industry in his career but fighting the anti AI gamers is arguably the most important yet.

AI in video games are a confusing topic to me.
@TimSweeneyEpic recently got a lot of flak for pushing AI in game development.
There are opinion pieces left and right condemning AI use in game development.
Here I am, having worked for ~6 months on a game I released on Steam last week. And my sin, apparently, was using AI and disclosing it.
The comment section was pretty clear on that.
It's confusing to me. AI is a tool. IDE is a tool. A programming language is a tool. A graphics API is a tool. We're just using tools.
I've been writing software for about 3 decades now, I'd like to think that I know what I'm doing and am pretty good at it. I see AI as an incredible productivity booster.
It does some things that I pride myself on being good at, such as teasing out a math formula or optimizing an algorithm better than me most of the time (with a lot of handholding, granted), but for the most part it makes things I find tedious - fast.
As I software engineer, and a game maker, I take relatively little pride in knowing a programming language, or remembering 100 shortcuts in an IDE, or knowing a programming language spec by heart.
I remember the first time I needed to make an animated 3d model, almost 15 years ago now, and it took me about a week of full-time effort to get anywhere. I didn't feel particularly proud, I felt frustrated, I had a clear idea, but the tool and its complexity were getting in the way. Well, the tools are better now. Blender is better, animation tools are better, and there are AI models that keep improving at an incredible pace.
Ultimately, when I write a piece of software, or work on a game - I rarely think about the tools, they are a means to an end, not the point in itself.
How many games do you think this worthless fucking cunt has made?
This has to be one of the worst AI disclosures I've come across in the sea of AI slop this Steam Next Fest.
"I'm an Indie dev so of course I have to obviously use AI to write the code of my game....." blah blah blah 🥱
Absolute slap in the face to every other Indie Dev putting in the work and developing their games with real skill and passion.
Learn the craft like all the others have! Make something with what you know and show players you can actually build a game. Earn that respect instead of just prompting AI to generate the code for you.
If you want to use AI, fine. But don’t sit here saying “obviously” it needs to be used just because you’re an indie. Don't give Indie's a bad rep just because you're too lazy to learn the craft yourself and do the full work.
Do better.

The funny thing is everyone was saying AI slop code will cause a cyber crisis but it’s actually all the old human slop causing it and the AI is just cleaning it up
This fag is lying. I went through their profile and there was a small handful of people with some one liners mocking him. There was no "spam" or bots or whatever.
Lying for clout like this is fucking pathetic.
