Starting today, 10,000 scientists across every field, from math to chemistry to physics and more, can get Claude through our new Claude Team plan for scientists. Standard seats are free, and premium seats with 5x usage limits are $15 per month, an 80% discount, for one year.
Claude is becoming increasingly capable of scientific work, with recent progress on problems from advanced physics calculations to protein design. Alongside that progress, we've been investing in the research community: Claude Science launched in June, and our AI for Science program funds high-impact projects with free credits. Today's expansion builds on both.
Principal investigators (or equivalent) at academic and nonprofit research institutions can sign up, then add the researchers in their group. Over the coming months, we plan to extend the program well beyond the initial 10,000 seats.

If anyone ever reads this, as a side note I also believe anphropics have real intentions here considering Darios history of cancer, but I also believe they want the training data as they seem to be focusing on training their models on bio as of late.
We have circuit tracing tools for LLMs so I don't get why we aren't giving people the tools to program when certain circuits activate, would make LLMs much more controllable in ways and I'd be interested to see what people would do with this.
From what I've seen GPT 5.6 vs Claude Fable reminds me of neo vim vs VS Code, with the GPT models coming more barebones and controllable whilst Fable is opinionated and overall has a solid starting point but sometimes does something you don't want or doesn't listen.

I honestly think it’s more on us as the people to use the tools for not reaching that stage. We aren’t always as creative as we give ourselves credit for, I do think there is a lot of potential already sitting with current models, untapped. Maybe there’s no need to rush, though.

The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
