JUST IN: European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the EU must strengthen external borders to counter “weaponized migration.”
The bloc has faced years of illegal immigration, some of which is believed to have been facilitated by Belarus and Russia, she said.
Von der Leyen told the European Council that in response to threats to external borders, the Commission would propose a European Emergency Response Framework, which will be presented at the end of the year.
Years of Migrant Incursions
Latvia, which is a member of the EU and NATO, has been experiencing illegal migration on its Belarusian border since 2021 and has accused Minsk and Moscow of flying in migrants from the Middle East and Africa, and pushing them into EU territory. Similarly, Polish security forces used a water cannon on illegal immigrants trying to enter the bloc via Poland’s border with Belarus in December 2021. Lithuania said in July it had also found a tunnel that illegal immigrants were using to enter EU territory from Belarus.

In 2019, King Randall (@NewEmergingKing) founded The X for Boys in Albany, Georgia, a free after-school program for boys, starting at age 7.
Its goal is to build character through faith, honor, commitment, discipline, consistency, and practical skills. Randall says many boys in his community grow up without positive role models or the everyday lessons he learned from his family.
The program runs from 2 to 9 p.m., seven days a week, offering help with reading and homework, snacks, an evening meal, and hands-on training.
Boys learn practical skills such as changing car oil, gardening, making appointments, paying and tipping at a restaurant, shaking hands, speaking clearly, and treating others with respect.
Older teens who stay in the program become mentors for younger boys.
Bryson Pitts says the discipline, communication, and responsibility he learned at The X now help him daily in the Navy. Monterrius Haynes wrote from Japan to thank Randall for the time he spent teaching him and for being a father figure.
25 boys are enrolled, and a similar life-skills program for girls opened in the summer of 2026. The program is supported by individuals and businesses rather than government grants.
In 2024, Randall walked 200 miles from Albany to Atlanta to raise awareness and funds. His work has also reached far beyond Georgia, with his Instagram account surpassing 1 million followers.
Randall’s focus remains the same: giving young people the character, skills, and guidance they can carry into adulthood.
For him, helping boys become good men is a promise he intends to keep.
JUST IN: Thousands of California voters just received duplicate mail-in ballots.
Tulare County election officials confirmed that a “printer vendor error caused duplicate Vote By Mail ballots in the City of Tulare,” in a notification posted to the county website.
The vendor has accepted full responsibility for the extra ballots and has worked with the county to send voters postcards with guidance on how to properly cast their votes, according to the website notice.
The instructions remind voters to use only one of the packets to cast their ballots and to destroy the duplicate. Voters should not attempt to return the second ballot or vote twice.

JUST IN: The DOJ just charged a father and son with operating a $1.6 billion healthcare fraud scheme in California.
The alleged scheme involved luring vulnerable individuals to California for sham substance abuse treatments that were never given to the patients. The DOJ said it was the largest case of its type that the department ever prosecuted.
Prosecutors allege that David Young, 71, and his son Nathan Young, 39, controlled dozens of treatment companies and used recruiters to lure vulnerable people with offers of free travel, housing, money, and drugs.
The operation allegedly favored patients with lucrative insurance policies, while others lived in crowded, unsanitary housing. Prosecutors say the Youngs recruited patients with free flights, money, apartments, hotel stays, cars, gift cards, marijuana, cigarettes, and illegal drugs.
Prosecutors allege the Youngs cycled patients through facilities regardless of medical need, and encouraged some to use drugs to qualify for detox.
Purported therapy sometimes consisted of Zoom sessions with more than 100 attendees who were not required to participate beyond turning on their cameras, prosecutors allege.
The Youngs offered drugs to their patients, stopped them from communicating with family members, drugged patients who tried to leave, and physically blocked others from leaving, the DOJ said in a statement.

JUST IN: More than 4.3 million tubes of toothpaste have been recalled due to manufacturing issues, including a product marketed to children.
India-based Pritam International Private Limited voluntarily recalled the products sold under brands Brush Buddies, evo, and ARU last month.
Brush Buddies is the children’s product. It features popular children’s characters, such as Barbie and Hot Wheels, and comes in flavors including bubble gum, strawberry, watermelon, and vanilla ice cream. The Food and Drug Administration’s website lists all the recalled items.
The FDA classified the products under Class II designation on Oct. 19.
This designation is issued when products may result in temporary adverse health consequences or where there is a remote probability of serious consequences. The FDA cited deviations from Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulations as the reason for pulling the products.
JUST IN: More than 600 migrants traveling through southern Mexico have an “absolutely zero chance” of being let into the United States, the DHS said.
DHS issued the warning on social media on Wednesday in response to Reuters footage showing migrants walking near Tapachula, in Mexico’s southern state of Chiapas, carrying a banner that reads, “Faith and Hope, Emigrating is not a crime.”
“We will protect our borders—America is a nation, not an economic zone,” the agency said.
The migrants, most of them Hondurans, left Tapachula near the Guatemalan border on Oct. 20, heading north toward the U.S.–Mexico border.
The group included young men and families with children, some pushing baby strollers along the roadside.
Some in the caravan hoped the Trump administration’s restrictive border policies would ease after the midterm elections.

JUST IN: Nine years in prison for acting as a courier in a Chinese money laundering scheme and laundering nearly $23 million in drug proceeds—that’s what a New York woman received yesterday, according to the Department of Justice.
Zhen Shu Jun, 37, received her sentencing in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Oct. 21. Prosecutors said the Chinese money laundering organization that she worked for was responsible for laundering more than $92 million in illicit funds.
“Money launderers help drug traffickers evade the law by moving and concealing their profits, which is why it is critical that we investigate and prosecute them,” Assistant Attorney General Andrew Tysen Duva of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division said in a statement.
Duva highlighted the role of Chinese money laundering organizations in facilitating the illicit drug trade, calling them “essential to its survival.”

JUST IN: El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele has launched a mission in Haiti to rescue four of its soldiers who were taken as hostages.
The soldiers, who were working as aviation technicians as part of the United Nations mission to Haiti, were attacked on Sunday by a gang in the Santo area of Croix-des-Bouquets, a suburb of the capital of Port-au-Prince. The gang set the soldiers’ armored vehicle on fire.
The Santo area, where the Salvadoran vehicle was targeted, is controlled by several gangs, including Chèn Méchan, Kraze Baryé, and 400 Mawozo.
Bukele’s Warning
“We have a single objective: to bring our four compatriots back home alive, without any harm,” Bukele wrote on X. “However, I want you, the gang leaders, to understand one thing very clearly: today’s attack is nothing compared to what is coming if we do not get all four hostages back alive.”
“And do not take our word for empty threats,” Bukele said. “We have already finished with the gangs in El Salvador, and we can finish with you too.”

Restoring Water Wealth
"An agriculture paradigm and policy that despises water cannot be healthy for any society. Water is the foundation of life. We all know that. Wouldn’t it be judicious if, as a nation, we put some attention on accumulating water rather than getting rid of it?" writes @JoelSalatin.

Could France’s Crisis Happen in America?
"What’s happening is that they come at a time when the West is in crisis, and it does not believe that its culture and civilization are superior to the alternative. So there’s no state effort to assimilate, to acculturate, to integrate, or to teach people about Greece and Rome, the medieval period, the Renaissance, the Enlightenment, or the Founding Fathers here in the United States." writes @VDHanson.
