🇮🇳 India: the world's new refining superpower 🛢️
🔹 Europe may shut 5–7 lakh barrels a day of refining capacity by 2030 because of high costs and carbon taxes.
🔹 India is already #4 in the world and #2 in Asia at 267 MMTPA, and is aiming for 309.5 MMTPA by 2030.
🔹 Reliance Jamnagar, the world's largest single-site refinery, has processed 216 different crude grades.
🔹 US Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited Jamnagar, and the US wants India to refine more Venezuelan crude.
🔹 Venezuelan imports in Apr–Aug: $3.6B, with Reliance taking about 47% of it.
🔹 Russia's share of India's crude imports fell from 51% to 45%, but India still keeps all its options open.
💡 Investor angle: refining is no longer just processing. It means export earnings and global leverage for India.
