I am all for the return of masks but stand firmly against any resumption of Zoom cocktails.

A new friend in my new city saying beautiful words about my mentor and forever chef. Thanks @MeherwanIrani ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Chef, you had no idea how much you meant to me and I barely got a chance to tell you. You changed my worldview about what an Indian chef could aspire to, and I wouldn’t be who I am today if not for what you… instagram.com/p/B-NhmXMBGi7/…

There is nothing Chef @floydcardoz cared for more than his family. Everything we do to honor him should be about making sure that they are looked after. @dhmeyer @OPedroMumbai @bombaycanteen @virsanghvi @Eater

People may not realize it, but so much of the food you eat today was influenced by Floyd when he was the cdc at Lespinasse with the late chef Grey Kunz. The family tree that branched out of that hall of fame kitchen changed gastronomy in America for the better

But as great as a chef as Floyd was, he was a better person and amazing dad. I will miss you so much Floyd.
Jenni and I are crushed. I’ll miss you Floyd. Thank you for everything. I owe you so much. Rest In Peace friend.

Other ways to help restaurant workers: Someone suggested tipping your favorite bartender via Venmo every time you have a drink at home. Imagine if all of us drinkers did that!

If ever there were a time for gov to provide fiscal leadership for hospitality workers and the industry it’s NOW. Mandated closings wisely protect communities, but minus rev, restaurants alone simply cannot fully care for our people and be able to reopen when this storm passes.

A crazy week comes to a close and we’re learning about a multitude of major conferences being postponed across the country-with massive economic ripple effects. If you’re no longer traveling somewhere out of town, please do all you can to support your favorite local restaurants.
