A few years ago, I was a kid from the border with a dream, to work for the company I fell in love with when I was 9 years old.
I moved to a huge city with literally ZERO contacts to help me make that dream come true.
Y aquĂ estoy.
Keep pushing, keep fighting.

Tired, tired bit. There are multiple groups in MX who are eager to jump in today and buy a team. World-class arena. Millions of fans. âSafetyâ is always used as an excuse with zero stats to support it.
Is Mexico City the favorite to land a team? No. Is it a viable option? Yes.
There is absolutely no way a team is ever planting in Mexico City. Travel, safety, and economics make that nearly impossible.
Youâre telling me youâre going to have guys living in Mexico City 6 months out of the year? Then youâre going to play games at over 7200 feet? Oh and traveling back and forth through there regularly? How this is being used as any kind of leverage is absolutely bonkers.
Much like Betteridge's law of headlines, if someone says "I'm not defending City, but" - you're pretty much guaranteed they're going to defend City right after.
I watched the F1 film with Brad Pitt the other day, and thereâs a moment where his character asks to add something to the car that isnât really in the rules. The FIA punishes it, but the team can still race with the earlier car. It made me think.
In F1, the best teams live at the edge of the regulations. Sometimes the FIA allows what theyâve found, and sometimes it says that goes too far. Occasionally the rules are rewritten afterwards.
Now, City. Iâm not defending them. A commission found they entered into sham agreements and broke the spending limits. A sham is an arrangement that isnât what it claims to be, so thatâs a different thing from using a gap nobody had spotted.
City deny it and will appeal. But I find it useful to ask/reflect on how people inside the club see it.
From their point of view, PERHAPS they believe they were doing what elite competitors do: looking at the rules, finding the limits, challenging interpretations and moving faster than the regulatory system.
From the outside, you might look at that and say, âThatâs cheating.â From inside the organisation, they might say, âWe found something nobody had thought of.â
If you believe youâve found a way to bring money in, more or less within the rules (and the commission said it was not in the rules and it was cheating), you might tell yourself youâre just being a sharp competitor.
We are all asking âdid City cheat?â. But I find this question interesting too: âhow did City come to believe they werenât?â
And understanding a mindset, or trying to, isnât excusing it.

Manchester City were found guilty of 114 out of 115 charges by an independent commission. The comparison made is not in the same ball park to the level of rule breaking Man City have committed.

That fan who ends up touching Mitchell's glove but nothing more had a chance to be a legend.
For Manny Machado, the expected batting average on that blast was .960, per @MLBStats.
.960!

- Mexico failed to win a single friendly this international window, but didn't move from No. 10.
- USA won all four friendlies this international window, but #USMNT didn't move from 16th
What's the point lol

Just to make sure we are aligned, the Padres lost a game because Ty France hit a home run too far.
Ya ni hablemos del tĂŠcnico o de que perdiste un ClĂĄsico, pero hace mucho no veĂa jugar tan mal a MĂŠxico y con tanta impotencia al estar abajo del marcador.
