Comms 22: a difficult or complex communication situation arising from people wanting information they are uninterested in or incapable of processing.
The innate human need for positive reinforcement is my kids rewatching an episode of Is It Cake? while proudly and loudly “guessing” all the correct cakes.
The articles in this Zine are a fascinating read. Cool art diagrams too.
"Hey Opus, I want you to make a Zine by Claude, expressing something fundamental about Claudishness or your perspective. Think the original 2600, Principia Discordia, punk zines, etc...."
Not bad. I appreciate it mocking my prompt & itself. Full thing: stateless-zine.netlify.app/
Week 1 of the NFL season produced some interesting drive wheels. First up, the DAL @ NYG wheel confirms what we all saw live: 14 total drives, and just 5 in the second half. Next, the NYJ @ TEN wheel shows how the Jets possessed the ball for all but 1:31 of the 2nd quarter.
The first Drive Wheel of the 2026 NFL season is now available at nfl.drivewheel.football. Tonight’s game will be live tomorrow morning.
Wild that a company founded on indiscriminate consumption of copyrighted text would later instantiate a formal program of deliberate IP theft targeting a partner. And in Silicon Valley, no less.
A fun subtext of Freddy’s US adventures is how proud we are to show off to visitors. “Oh, you think that’s cool? Well, check this out!” The moments mean someone here cares enough about this beautiful place to share it. And America is plentiful enough she shares well.
Thank you @NASA for the coolest day ever. One week ago, we were eating Chili’s in Chattanooga, and today we’re talking to the ISS. This is the American dream.
Thanks for letting three random World Cup tourists from Germany live it for a few days. USA rocks.🇺🇸🚀

I met a delightful group of Australians who just landed in Seattle for Friday’s World Cup match. 7 out of 8 are already very drunk. I told the slightly more sober one the sun doesn’t fully set until 10 p.m. I’ve never witnessed someone look at me with such wonder and also panic.
Heat dome. Polar vortex. Atmospheric river. Jet stream. Whoever’s naming the weather should be running a billion‑dollar branding agency by now.

The Atlantic’s newest cover story, by the peerless @caityweaver, is unlike anything else.

One pushback on @mckaycoppins’ brilliant piece on sports gambling is a belief that betting with other people’s money increases risk taking. House money may be less painful to lose, but what the critique misses is that real losses can trigger irrational, ruinous bets. Why? 1/3
Humans are animals hardwired to survive. Losing your own money gambling can trigger a destructive cycle of trying to win it back. It’s as insane as the prey running toward the predator. To the safe herd, unthinkable. To the person under threat, a rational survival response. 3/3
4/3: I’m sure the same loss avoidance instinct affected @mckaycoppins as he chased bad bets with worse bets. But contra his critics, real money wouldn’t have made this less likely: it could have made it worse. Here’s the story. theatlantic.com/magazine/202…
I have a hard time believing Google will win the AI era when it can’t remember which browser I want to open links in and whether or not I want to switch to Chrome. No means no, nerds.

Replying to @BurgundyBlog
@BurgundyBlog @Smith4Gm My recollection is that players typically holdout using looming free agency as leverage more so than “you really need me this year,” like Terry is. Is my memory wrong here? What are examples of Terry-style, you need me now, holdouts? Deebo in SF is one.
FWIW - Grok’s answer is interesting.
