We are launching our Graduate School Application Financial Aid Program (queerinai.com/grad-app-aid) for 2023-2024. We’ll give up to $750 per person to queer STEM scholars applying to graduate programs. Apply at form.jotform.com/23266853262…. Donate to support at paypal.com/donate/?hosted_bu… 1/
I'm happy to present "VLSlice: Interactive Vision-and-Language Slice Discovery" at @ICCVConference this Thursday! Find me 2:30pm - 4:30pm in room "Foyer Sud" - 121. See ericslyman.com/vlslice/ for the paper, code, and presentations. TL;DR in the thread🧵1/8
Compared to the control interface (ListSort) in our (n=22) user study, we find that VLSlice enables participants to create significantly larger and more coherent slices. Additionally, Participants rate VLSlice higher on average in 10 of 12 Likert-scale questions.🧵7/8
Thanks to my adviser @stefmlee at @OregonState and collaborator @minsukkahng at @Google PAIR for all the excellent guidance on this project! Please reach out if you have any questions or comments.🧵8/8

@QueerinAI folks at #ICCV2023, we're planning an informal coffee meetup at the 10:30 coffee break tomorrow, Oct. 4, at the cafe outside W01.
See you there!!

PAIR is hiring a research scientist!
PAIR is looking for a Research Scientist interested in making hard ML problems (like understanding langauge) much smaller... In Paris, and working closely with fun interactive explorable visualizations too. See: goo.gle/3PcvPEs

Exciting! We are hiring for a research scientist role. 🎉
One of the areas of interest is security/risk at scale:
- rigorously evaluating model risk at scale
- efficient red teaming/alignment with human feedback
- studying viable threat models in LLMs at scale

With millions of data entries, cross-filtering is painfully laggy
Not with our (me and @domoritz) new JavaScript library FalconVis!
With FalconVis, you can cross-filter your visualizations at scale with no interaction delay!
Try it out! dig.cmu.edu/falcon-vis/cross…

Our new paper generalizing the chain, circle and graph of thought prompting strategies--that unleashes the hidden power of LLMs (and graduate students). Hope @_akhaliq picks it up.. 🤞
