The Army sees what I see. That our team is ready to build. And build a better more resilient America, we will. The US Military is the largest purchaser of energy in the world. Awarding Radiant $750M to deploy 15 reactors beginning in 2028 is a huge vote of confidence in our product, manufacturing capabilities, and our team.
Thank you @Waksman84 and @OwenWest91 for your leadership. We are looking forward to working with @DIU_x @USArmy

The @USArmy has awarded Radiant $750 million to deliver 15 Kaleidos microreactors through the Janus program, one of the largest contracts @DIU_x has issued to date.
The Army launched the Janus Program to strengthen the energy resilience of military installations and mission-critical infrastructure. Radiant was chosen after extensive evaluation of reactor design, technical maturity, manufacturing readiness, deployment strategy, and commercial viability. Radiant’s 15 microreactors will enable the Army to deploy nuclear power across multiple locations. In tandem, the operational data acquired through the Program will accelerate commercial deployments across a global footprint of commercial customers.

Congratulations Radiant Team! An amazing “first” and was honored to be there with you !!!
Kaleidos has left the building!
Our transportable microreactor is on its way to @INL's DOME facility, where it will begin full-scale testing.
Over the coming months, we'll validate commercial performance through a full-scale, full-power extended-duration testing program that progresses in 5 phases:
-Install and fuel Kaleidos
-Reach zero-power criticality
-Sustain 1MW thermal operation
-Full-temperature and full-power operation
-150-hours continuous operation
In 2020, our CEO @DougBernauer said we’d have a reactor at the DOME in 2026 - and we will!

MEGAWATT IN A BOX? This high-temperature gas reactor being developed by @RadiantNuclear could be a potential replacement for diesel generators.
Radiant is on track to become the first company to test its fueled reactor experiment in DOME — the world’s first microreactor test bed.

It’s great when we get showcased like this!

The U.S. Army on Tuesday unveiled the Janus Program, a more than six year effort by the Army and the Pentagon’s Defense Innovation Unit with the goal of developing and constructing hundreds of state-of-the-art small nuclear reactors to power military bases across the United States, according to the Wall Street Journal. The reactors, dubbed microreactors by the Army, will generate less than 20 megawatts of electricity, enough to power a small town or base, and will be small enough to be transported by either ship or aircraft to remote military locations overseas, such as islands in the Pacific. Secretary of the Army Daniel P. Driscoll stated that they hope to have the first reactors operational at bases across the country by September 2028.
Great leaders, great company, great tech - keep pressin’ Radiant!

This is an aspect of what we call “competition” @ElbridgeColby
The President of Panama, José Raúl Mulino has announced that following his meeting yesterday with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Panama has decided not to renew its 2017 Memo with China, regarding their “Belt and Road Initiative” and that they will look towards voiding their Agreements with the Chinese Government prior to their End Dates set for 2027 and 2028.

The clear lesson here that *denial* works as @chairmang points out in the piece. Russia is being stopped by Ukrainians fighting for their nation. Putin would be at the Polish border if all he faced were sanctions and G-7 condemnations. 2/
Check out Colby and Slocombe in WOTR as they discuss “presence” - @WarInstitute @AdaptingTheArmy @ElbridgeColby - hard to deter at the operational level if you can’t “be there” warontherocks.com/2021/03/th…

many good points @ElbridgeColby
- can’t defeat a “fait accomplis” without being there...speed of action is fundamental
- history shows, when you have near peer parity in nuclear power, conventional forward deterrence becomes MORE critical...not less ... warontherocks.com/2021/03/th…
