I met with the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, @elinavaltonen.
We highly value that her first visit in this role was to Ukraine and appreciate Finland’s OSCE Chairmanship prioritizing Ukraine and the “peace through strength” approach.
Our discussions focused on what more the OSCE can do to protect our children, support our soldiers, and assist in the release of Ukrainians held in Russian prisons. We also addressed strengthening sanctions against Russia’s shadow fleet, which finances the war, undermines oil price caps, and poses a threat to the environment.
The OSCE can take on a bigger role in protecting lives. Together, we can make this happen and bring lasting peace closer.
