It’s #worldmentalhealthday2021 on the 10th October and alongside Black History Month the captions below are extremely important issues @WimbledonHigh #MentalHealthMatters #BlackHistoryMonth #breakthestigma
Our mental health system is stacked against Black people. As a mental health charity, it's vital we recognise this. These stats show the inequalities Black people face.
Find out more about Black History Month and how to campaign for better services > bit.ly/2WEr5A9
ALT Why we care about Black History Month (and why you should too).
ALT People from Black communities are at a higher risk of developing a mental health problem in adulthood but are less likely to receive support for their mental health.
ALT Black women in the UK have higher rates of post-traumatic stress, are at greater risk of suicide, and are more likely to be diagnosed with schizophrenia.
ALT These inequalities are not acceptable. We’ll continue to fight for change in mental health services, in Black History Month and beyond.
