Kohen Wiley’s mom had a receipt for her transaction; she didn’t steal a damn thing. Even if she did, shoplifting isn’t a fucking capital crime ... stop using it as justification for the police killing a one year old.

Actor & comedian Munya Chawawa says that he & the the cast of A Midsummer Night's Dream faced more racism, homophobia & xenophobia in 6 weeks than he has experienced in his ‘entire lifetime’ after the cast was attacked, called the N-word & other slurs. theargus.co.uk/news/26651803…

Actor describes 'abysmal racism and homophobia' he faced in Chichester

An assault on a cast member of a play in Chichester was "just the tip of the iceberg" of the "racism, xenophobia and homophobia" the cast faced in the town, an actor has claimed.

When “indie sleaze” was actually happening, it was just called indie. But as the era gets repackaged through playlists, party photos, and Pinterest boards, the Black artists who helped shape the era are being left out. @Santigold, Spank Rock, and @kilokish shed light on the scene they experienced, the boxes the industry put them in, and how the people telling its story shape what gets remembered. Read the full feature by @precious1otus here: pigeonsandplanes.com/read/wh…

The Whitewashing of Indie Sleaze

As "indie sleaze" has become inescapable online in recent years, a generation of boundary-pushing Black artists have been overlooked. Santigold, Spank Rock, and Kilo Kish remember a scene far more...

in case you didn't know a trans woman was denied care for cancer in the UK because they refused to put her on either sex segregated ward (mens or womans). she died because of this. 16 days without treatment and she died. this new guidance has killed and will kill trans people

Whoops! 😅 I’ve been so busy preparing for the God Save the Queens 👑 and Mekons gigs that the 31st Birthday (September 30) of the X-Ray Spex sophomore album ‘Conscious Consumer’ 🧠 🛒 totally fell off my radar… 🎯 . Which is ironic as Paul Dean 🎸 and I 🎷 were reminiscing…

Over the past 6 months child malnutrion rates in Sudan have spiked significantly; this is partly due to failed rains that have made agricultural products in Sudan significantly more expensive. KAK has successfully treated thousands of children suffering from Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and we aim to treat thousands more; from what is a life threatening condition. These photos were taken this morning at a treatment centre just north of Khartoum. If you would like to support the important work we are doing the link is in the reply, in any case, please share widely. Thank you.
