Takeaways from the first half:
- Mikey Keene wasn't playing perfectly, but he was getting the job done for the Sun Devils. He completed 53% of his passes for 160 yards and led two touchdown drives before leaving the field with an injury. Cutter Boley took over for him to end the first half. The Sun Devils will hope their new starter is OK to play the second act of this game.
- ASU's run defense, which entered this matchup as the fourth-worst run defense in the Big 12 with an average of 156.8 yards given up per game, limited the Big 12's No. 2 rushing attack to just 58 yards in the first half. The defense allowed just one rush over three yards after the first drive of the game. The run defense playing stoutly is helping to keep the Sun Devils in the lead.
- Cardae Mack is truly being used as ASU's RB1. The back has recorded nine of the Sun Devils' 10 running back runs, accumulating 46 yards and two touchdowns along the way.

Arizona State (3-3, 1-2 Big 12) is back at home and looking to get back into the win column against Kansas State (4-2, 1-2) after suffering a dismantling at the hands of then-No.10 Texas Tech.
Both teams are turning to new quarterbacks in this matchup. The Sun Devils are starting Mikey Keene under center after Cutter Boley struggled mightily against the Red Raiders. The Wildcats are starting Jacob Knuth in place of the injured Avery Johnson.

The fifth-year quarterback is listed at 6-foot-4, 225 pounds. On the roster since 2023. He didn't play in 2023 but appeared twice in 2024 and twice in 2025. 16 snaps this year. For his career, it's 3-for-3 for 5 yards, no TDs. Eight carries for 88 yards and a TD. Would still expect to see a Kansas State QB running the ball quite a bit today.

BREAKING: Kenny Dillingham announced on 98.7 FM that Mikey Keene will be the starting quarterback Saturday against Kansas State. The backup signal caller who entered in the second half of the Texas Tech game threw for 256 yards completing 74% of his passes had two touchdown passes and no turnovers.
