Dear friends. My new book in which I consider lost books, burned libraries, Goethe, the lives and deaths of Presocratic philosophers, Paris, statues of Niobe, patterns in history, war, displacement, the evils of ambition, and Pachynian tuna is out in the world next month.

All this Anne Carson discourse leaves me with just one question: what kind of week is Margaret Atwood’s PA having?

I like the part in The French Connection where the French baddies go to a French restaurant in NYC and eat snails, so the viewer knows for sure they’re French.
I am pleased to discover the German word, 'Korinthenkackerei' -- 'pooing raisins' (which are from Corinth) -- and meaning 'nit-picking'.
Canadian friends, I’m going to be in Toronto this summer and will have some copies of my ‘Men of the Same Name’. If you’d like to me to post you a signed copy, please dm me. I’ll try to keep costs around $20…it has a terrific cover and there are some poems inside too.

Cafavy’s poetry is full of secrets. The poetry is in the prismatic expression. The someone, the attention, the erotic body (transparent to the divinity), the sculpture, the height, tender facial features: we see the creature unfold in spirit and flesh—the mystery of its maker.

For a belated #fathersday, a poem I wrote for my father (& for all fathers baffled by their children’s literary aspirations). After #Martial from my @FitzWhits book Urbanities
I am once again asking who has been cast as Palamedes.
