The Marriage & Civil Partnership (Minimum Age) Act 2022 is expected to take effect on 27 Feb 2023, the govt has announced.
The Act will raise the age of marriage & civil partnership to 18 in England & Wales to protect children from forced marriage. bit.ly/3R55eIS

The roll-out of pre-recorded evidence has been extended to 14 new locations.
This scheme allows victims and witnesses of crimes such as rape and modern slavery to have their cross-examination video-recorded and played later during trial.

We’re continuing to introduce protections for victims of rape with the rollout of pre-recorded cross-examination in the Crown Court.
A further 14 courts can offer the measure, which helps reduce the trauma of giving evidence in a live trial.
