Remember Kingston's prison farm story? USMCA could undo the government's plan to use prison farms to supply milk for Chinese infant formula. We need to promote sustainable and rehabilitatively relevant alternatives such as plant-based agriculture and sanctuary as animal therapy.

The infant formula factory that was to be supplied by Kingston's prison farms may not be viable as a result of the USMCA agreement replacing NAFTA. Another nail in the coffin of our government's ill-conceived and unsustainable prison farm plan.
