**Nice weather with slightly above normal temperatures through Thursday, rain chances next weekend?** High pressure will continue to dominate our weather through at least Thursday with partly cloudy skies each day and highs 5-10degrees above normal overall with some cooling by mid week as high pressure weakens. Look for highs in the upper 70s&80s overall for most areas each day. Looking ahead there is a lot of disagreement amongst computers regarding a long expected pattern change late next week into the weekend. Most show cooling and at least chances of rain by late Saturday-Sunday with possibly better chances of more significant Precipitation after the 15th. Highs will fall back to below normal . Should hopefully have a better idea on when this pattern will shift and how much rain we may see as we head through next week so stay tuned! #CAwx #Rain #VeteransDay #ElNino #LosAngeles #SanDiego

College athlete gets shot five times by Oregon police, who mistook him for his knife-wielding brother. 21-year-old Maverick Lyon was seen emerging from his home before being shot by police after he escaped from his knife-wielding brother. "You guys shot the wrong guy... he was holding me hostage," Lyon said after being shot. Maverick's brother, Dakota, had relapsed on drugs following knee surgery and began acting delusional. After the brothers had breakfast together, Dakota grabbed a knife and held Maverick hostage. At some point, Maverick picked up a kitchen knife himself to protect himself from his brother. Their father, who was not home, became concerned when Maverick wasn't returning his calls and checked the Ring camera to see Dakota threatening his brother with a knife. He called the police and told them that Maverick was wearing a gray long-sleeve shirt and Dakota was shirtless. When the brothers saw an officer in the backyard, Maverick decided to make a run for it to the front door but was met with police gunfire. He was seen dropping the knife as he emerged from the home. Maverick spent a month in the hospital, had part of his lung, his appendix, and his spleen removed, and needed digestive system reconstructive surgery. He had played lacrosse at St. Anselm College in New Hampshire. Dakota has been sentenced to over six years in prison. He feels remorseful and says he wishes he had been shot and not his brother. Maverick has launched a lawsuit against the Albany Police Department.

Friday, November 6, 2026 12:08 PM: The latest CPC shows the darkest green I have seen on the map so far for Southern California. This indicates high confidence that, after this weekend’s heat, a complete pattern change will occur from November 12 through November 19, 2026. The latest European model run, the GFS, and many ensemble forecasts also indicate this change, as does the observed atmosphere. #CAwx #ElNiño

This video makes me happy. We have some dark roads close to where I live and these idiots blast up and down them screeching their tires in the early hours of the morning. I can only hope they meet a similar fate as soon as possible. 🙏

Wednesday, November 4, 2026, 4:06 PM: The latest CPC outlook just dropped, and it points to a continuing chance of Pacific storms making their presence felt across our region in mid-November 2026. Last year, from November 13–21, 2025, California saw significant rainfall. Fun fact: it wasn’t an El Niño year. The rain was part of a growing marine heat wave that began in early May 2025, when sea-surface temperatures started running slightly above normal. This helped enhance the storm track across the northern and central Pacific. I also looked back at the infamous November of 1997. Two storm systems moved through November 10–16, followed by another around Thanksgiving. Even so, rainfall totaled just 2.00 inches in Los Angeles, while San Francisco received 3.0 to 5.6 inches. And before those storms arrived, temperatures in Orange County topped 100°F in early November. The more you know! So those who are thinking that just because November is not seeing the rainfall flooding deluge that you would expect have the whole idea of El Niño completely misunderstood. Hopefully this helps you all understand a little bit about this phenomenon. #CAwx

‼️URGENT PRAYER REQUEST‼️ Durango, CO is in harms way tonight. -I have friends whose homes have flooded -Elderly friends with a river at their front door, literally. -Ambulances just flew by -Bridges are going (smaller ones) @ColoradoDOT is working thru the night! @DurangoPolice & @lpcsheriff are evacuating people right now. Babies, the poor, trailer parks The scenes are catastrophic and it is supposed to rain ALL NIGHT LONG! Pray for the hospitals, the first responders, the bridge & road crews. As I type, I’m getting county messages of new zones to evacuate. But those roads are closing, options are limited, people are trapped and it’s terrifying. Please pray.

A PARENTS WORST NIGHTMARE—Officers in Warren Michigan stopped a car that was going 75mph. As they approached the vehicle, a frantic driver told Officer Brendan Fraser that their toddler wasn’t breathing. The child was blue and his eyes had rolled to the back of his head. Officer Fraser was able to render aid to the 18 month old child and remove liquid from his mouth enabling him to breathe again. The toddler was taken to the hospital and was later released. He’s now back home with his family. Officer Fraser has been nominated for an award for his calm demeanor and quick thinking while handling the incident. Praise be to God that this child is ok. What a roller coaster. 😳
