Earlier Astra 1 mockup. Astra mk1 was first unveiled in 1998 Aero India. Earlier models had a resemblance with Matra Super 530D. Mk1 used the Agat 9B1103M seeker till 2017 while DRDO kept working on an indigenous seeker in parallel.

Agat 9B1103M is used in the R77 family of missiles. The propellent in astra is made by Premier Explosive Ltd and the motors are from the DRDO.

Is kusha cold/hot launched? If the former then we can say fragmentation is being addressed and the headache of multiple islands will get solved. Also iirc nasm mr is also cold launched and so is SMART. So only barak 8 and vlsrsam remain hot launched then.
