🔥Are you ready for a story? Over the past 2 years, I've felt my creativity come back. I've felt it change. It's as though it's refined in ways I didn't realize it could. The ideas were always there. The need to express myself visually has always been there. I can look back to my childhood and remember being fascinated taking pictures of things. Noticing small _details and wondering what story those _details could tell. Never in my life did I think I'd be at a point of having a cohesive body of work to present all together. Pulling in work from 20 years ago, I can see the work change but the concepts and curiosity stay the same. Over the past 2 years I've been encouraged to do just that. To pull all of my work together into one collection. To use my words to support the imagery and tell a story. Not just my story, but the story of the _details and _emotions in the world that are often neglected. My plan has never included writing, I don't consider myself a writer at all. I will accept that I am a curious thinker. A person that asks questions as a way to make sense of the world. But now, my stream of consciousness will reside alongside my body of work in a new form. This last year, with the encouragement of friends, I've spent a tremendous amount of time compiling my thoughts and images with the thought of making a book. Something to pull my ideas together. To show the _connections I so desperately try to make and the _details and _emotions that we confront to get there. This may not seem like a big or exciting project to anyone else. But to me, it feels like something I've always considered out of reach. Something so scary that, despite putting it off and regardless of its acceptance by others, I simply had to do. So if you've made it this far, this is my attempt at a soft announcement. I wrote a book. Maybe writing isn't the right word, but there is now in existence, a book of my words and images totaling 125 pages. One that will no doubt continue to scare me because of how exposed I feel for even thinking I have anything to say in a book. Over the next few weeks I will have details for its release and where it will be available for purchase. At some point I will actually announce this in a way that isn’t so buried in text that it gets lost. But for today, this is a small step I'm ok taking to announce this project. Much appreciation to everyone that has encouraged me and held me accountable so I wouldn't give up. Coming soon… _connections Where details & emotions intersect
