We're officially bowing out of what used to be Twitter, and won't be using this account any more. We're giving mastodon a try, so if you want to keep up with what we're working on, see you over there! mastodon.social/@hellocodeco
"10,000 steps a day" was always just a marketing gimmick. But new studies show that most people would benefit from getting at least 8,000 every day scientificamerican.com/artic…

We sent out our 2022 user survey email this week! Have you filled it in yet? Your feedback is super useful in guiding us in what we should focus on in 2023.

A product that I have been loving for a long long time is Exist.

I love how the builders @joshsharp and @BelleBCooper have been building this slowly, and also in public for so many years.
They show their business income and future roadmap in public
Announcing the public release of API 2 to all users! Developers can now take advantage of all our new custom attributes and manual tracking features. We've also created a guide to writing a client, so beginner programmers can jump in too. developer.exist.io
Turns out, writing a guide on how to use our API is a whole lot of work! I hope it'll be a useful resource for anyone looking to get started with accessing their data programmatically.
It's a slow process, but I'm currently working through updating our API documentation for our public release of API v2, which will support manual tracking. We'll also include a guide on how to get started writing your own client! 💪
Here's why we use averages as goals in Exist:
- when your behaviour changes over time, your goal changes to match
- it's more personalised: if you're more active on weekends, your goal will be higher then
- it helps you focus on incremental change

Quick tip: when using our new manual tracking feature, we recommend choosing a pre-made template if you can. Because we define these templates, we know about that data and can do better analysis on it. If you need to, you can always create something totally custom, though!
Quick tip for iOS users: when tracking a duration or a time of day, you can tap on this dialog to bring up the keyboard and type in a value instead of scrolling. (Tap on the selected value, where you see the grey background in this screenshot.)
