People will absolutely hate me for this opinion, but this offseason the #stlcards need to trade Alec Burleson this winter. I know that will be wildly unpopular, just like it was a year ago when I was advocating to flip Donovan. But look at it logically for a sec... • Turns 28 next month. • 2 years of team control remaining. • Will be a 30-year-old free agent after 2028. • 2027 isn't a realistic contention year. • 2028 is the earliest realistic opening of the next winning window, and that's his walk year. • Coming off a career year, so his trade value will likely never be higher. • Very good hitter, but not the kind of 1B you build around and pay huge money into his 30s. As much as fans love him, by most measures, he's a fringe top-10 first baseman. • Bernal/Rodriguez create a future C/1B roster crunch • Gurevitch gives them another potential internal option Burleson is a good player. That's exactly WHY you trade him. Turn 2 years of a good (but not great) 28 year old 1B into a legitimate front line pitching prospect who can spend the next 6+ years alongside Liam Doyle. Sell high. Build the rotation that can carry the next Cardinals contender.

Can somebody enroll John Smoltz in a physics class? I'm tired of hearing outdated baseball takes presented as facts.

Milwaukee breaks the tie. They're gonna be popping bottles soon.

Interesting how hard the small ball narrative is being pushed lately, especially with the December lockout approaching. Small ball doesn't win in the playoffs, but the narrative certainly benefits owners looking to justify cheaper rosters.

Trump... ... ............has a point 🔥
Trump platforms a Black woman, gives her the recognition she’s earned, tells the world how great she is, invites her to the White House, puts her on stages, has her hosting shows, flies her on Air Force One, and makes sure she knows she’s appreciated and CELEBRATED, NOT TOLERATED. And the Black community turns around and tears her down simply because her politics don’t fit the script. She dares to stand on what she believes in instead of blindly repeating what she’s told to say. Did y’all treat Beyoncé and Taylor Swift like this for backing Kamala? Must’ve missed that. Nicki Minaj feels PROTECTED now. Something she clearly didn’t feel from the other party. Where were all of you when her home was swatted with her newborn inside and she begged Newsom for help? NOWHERE. YOU DIDN’T SAY SHIT. Worry about your own lives and stop obsessing over tearing down a woman you never cared enough to protect in the first place.

Dunno about that call. Oof. Not that it would have changed the final score, but it sure looked like Yandy held up there. This thing looks inevitable. Wonder if Tampa will win a game.

How come when Katie Woo was covering the Cardinals, she was the best beat writer that we had, but now that she's covering the Dodgers, she's still the best beat writer that the #stlcards have?

I already think human resources is a bullshit field to begin with, but I have to pass an HR exam. So here I am, skimming through the combination of common sense and pseudoscience that apparently passes for knowledge in this field, when I discover that my last birthday officially put me in a federally protected class because I'm now old enough to sue someone for age discrimination at work.

Are everyone’s Brian’s fried? Legitimately? He did NOT ‘swat’ or hit her… She continued advancing an unwanted contact, on his persons for no reason other than to be a Karen. She didn’t even look at him and ask him …. He did a windmill to get her grimy hands off of his person. He didn’t shove her or ‘swat’ her and some of you are now committing crimes and defaming him …. This is the only video @DukeFOOTBALL needs to see. She committed battery on him and escalated a situation to physical that was completely unwarranted. As a mother/ wife with a daughter and a son…. I stand with Robinson. This was uncalled for and unnecessary and she could have hurt his ankle by shoving him with force. #hedidntconsent #standwithrobinson @Coach_MannyDiaz stand with your player and have some balls. . . Or go get your testosterone checked. Or maybe your vision if you still think he’s in the wrong even after I slowed it down. . . @espn should show it in slow motion and I hope it’s not true she made statements playing victim or I hope the player sues her into eternity and he presses charges for battery. He was already not in the way and she continued to shove him with force, with her little fat meat sticks…. He simply did a windmill to get her hand off him.
