Important thread about DV. "Why doesn't she leave?" is NOT the question we should be asking. If we want to help women, we have to ask the right questions. "Why isn't he arrested?" And my own addition to this thread: "Why does the law protect his rights more than hers?"

We have people in power making broad claims around certain drugs and autism that have been continuously disproven. The degree to which those comments can undermine public health, do harm to women who are pregnant, create anxiety for parents who do have children who are autistic – is violence against the truth.
Judges' robes are starting to look an awful lot like superhero capes. The judicial branch may save us yet.

It’s called judicial review, and it’s been around since the Supreme Court decided Marbury v. Madison in 1803.
If one didn’t mind when justices (who are themselves judges) on the “Supreme Court struck down Biden’s vaccination decree,” then they have no room to argue against the courts striking down Trump’s executive actions.

Went to help in the Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area today, and it’s hard to describe - never seen anything like this. Post apocalyptic. It’s so overwhelming you don’t even know how to fathom what recovery looks like, let alone where to start. Going to be a long path to recovery that all levels of stakeholders are going to be needed.
Loved being a part of this fantastic panel on health of trans and gender diverse communities. Grateful for a room packed with people passionate about health equity and research that informs meaningful change.

For anyone tracking my luck. This was almost 2 years ago exactly. Today I’m in Jamaica - got here 2 days before a record setting category 4 hurricane struck. Officially accepting offers to plan my next vacation.
