A questionnaire in my PhD revealed exactly that - patients rated their comm success 2.2/10 and nurses thought it was 5/10 when the patients were voiceless. Both ratings jumped to 9/10 once able to talk (and still ventilated) @CCRG_Research @CriticalCareSLT #communication #ICU

The revolution strikes again! The @DeptofDefense budget will AGAIN double funding for ALS research, from $20M to $40M for FY2021.
In the last two years, federal spending on ALS research has gone up $75M. Take. That. IN! This is the ALS community. Relentless and loving it!

Tonight at bedtime my 6 year old was reading to me. He asked for help reading "Merlin", and my ALS voice just couldn't get it out. I got frustrated... but he grabbed my hand and said "I love you daddy. Take your time." He's why I keep fighting. Not today, ALS. Not today.
