Perhaps people have forgotten or were too young to remember but when conservatives swear to you that Obama was a divisive president, it’s because of stuff like this. He would say the most innocuous thing and we would get days of “Dem elitist” commentary from conservative media and pundits. Again, it’s not lost on me that Obama compared Trump’s taste to that of Saddam Hussein in the same breath, and that Trump literally said he didn’t care about high gas prices the same day, yet none of that broke through. Because perceived threats to white cultural hegemony are actually what most of the last 10 years of politics have been about. It’s the same reason why a Democrat’s career would be over for trashing Toledo, Ohio, why we still talk about Hillary’s “deplorables” gaffe, but Republicans say awful things about America’s largest cities and deny them federal funds and there’s barely a whimper of outrage.
the cheesecake factory discourse a back to the future reminder of what 2008-2016 was like on here. Obama makes funny joke revealing he's like the average American (fluent enough in gaudy chain restaurants to jest about a specific chain). GOPers decide it means he's not #oneofus. This goes on for days...

FACT: The annual funding Israel receives from the US amounts to less than one-tenth of 1% of the federal budget. Less than 1/10th of 1%. FACT: That annual funding would cover only a few hours of federal health care spending. A few hours. Yet politicians who specialize in scapegoating would have you believe that Israel is responsible for America’s affordability crisis. Like every form of scapegoating before it, it is a dangerous lie.

Democrats won’t win consistently until this is the image of the GOP with the median voter. Dems should start going after conservative influencers like the GOP does Hasan Piker
How should Christians approach Halloween? Christians tend to fall into four different camps when it comes to participating in Halloween: - Total abstinence - Full participation - Partial participation - Redemptive participation Some abstain from Halloween altogether. Others fully participate in the festivities, while some enjoy the family fun without participating in the glorification of evil. I believe the better alternative is redemptive participation. My mom has set this example for me for years. She uses Halloween as an opportunity to share the gospel by attaching Bible verses to candy, making Scripture signs for her front lawn, and sharing the love of Jesus with the families who come to her door. As she says, “What other time of year do you have people coming to your home and asking you for something? This is like the easiest evangelism opportunity possible.” A night associated with darkness can actually be an opportunity to shine the light of Christ.

@IJasonAlexander was nervous about walking around Ramallah, Palestine as an American Jew until a street vendor saw him and shouted “George Costanza!” This is a great reminder that humor gets in where nothing else can.

The real revolution is at the ballot box; conservatives understood that, which is why they’ll control the Supreme Court for the next 30 years and just closed a deal to own like 90% of the mainstream media. The “revolution” already happened, yall didn’t show up, we lost.

You first. Move to some rural hellhole, drive 3 hours to get to your office, or a restaurant, shop exclusively at Walmarts in strip malls. Send your kids to the one bad school. Or we could build more housing in cities, where people want to live.
There are lots of cheap places to live in this country, and it would make sense for people who cannot afford rent in new york city to be displaced to those places.

These people don’t want to be communists. They want to be rich and have servants.
A big part of why Communism appeals to me is the idea of unlocking the true creative potential of humanity and removing the obstacles preventing excellence. Capitalism stifles human ingenuity, who knows what brilliant things we can do once we are free.

What a party "wants to do" in terms of gas prices is almost irrelevant, when one party insists on starting unilateral Middle Eastern wars.

So everyone is saying that reaching out to "BIPOC" and "LGBTQ" is DEI and illegal and discriminates against white people. No one has a problem with reaching out to working class or veterans, groups presumed to be white, male, and right-wing. That DEI is just fine.
I’m hiring motivated and eager interns for the Spring 2027 semester in my Boston office. BIPOC, LGBTQ+, working class, veterans, and other underrepresented candidates with Massachusetts ties are encouraged to apply. Applications are due Monday, November 9th.

A *lie* about Talarico spending 10 days in a mental hospital is getting more media coverage than a *true story* about Paxton partying in Dubai with his mistress and a couple of white collar criminals. YOUR MAINSTREAM MEDIA, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! 🙄

It’s all culture war bullshit. The left (broadly speaking) wouldn’t care about the ad if Sydney Sweeney wasn’t already symbolic in the discourse as a right winger (regardless of her actual views) and same with Gillis’s joke, regardless of his. This part of the left is dumb.
The same side of the internet who were slutshaming Sydney Sweeney’s sports ad are now coming down on some SNL comedian for slutshaming women in revealing sportswear. I can’t keep up. Either you’re against all slutshaming or you’re for all slutshaming. Either women can dress however they want or women have to be in full hijab. Pick one.

The reason crime is legal is because Trump is the president. This is an important fact for people who told us there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats to meditate on

The Democratic Party will never talk about the epidemic of natal girls wanting to be boys/a third gender, because the great intellectual leaders of the Democratic Party are responsible for it. Democrats would rather girls mutilate their bodies, than challenge Pinker.
It’s never gonna stop surprising me that literally zero Democratic trans public figures have the integrity to say what is obvious. If you listen to this avalanche of natal girls that identify as men, their motivations and reasoning are literally nothing like classical transsexuals. They clearly want to escape womanhood, not become men. A few trans men are the same thing we are, but they are extremely rare. This is a social contagion driven by progressive ideology and covid isolation. I literally don’t understand how you could sacrifice so much to live as a woman and not want to protect girls from this historic mistake.

Yes, Trump did a crime, like he's done a million times before, because he's a criminal, now impeach and jail him, but they won't because the Republicans are all cowards living in fear of a gameshow host with dementia
Seven US senators from both parties say Trump broke the law by greenlighting Russian diesel imports, pointing to a 2022 ban meant to stop American money from bankrolling Russia's war, and accusing the administration of skipping Congress entirely.

Jesus the fired for saying a slur thing was 7 years ago. Get over it. Every stand-up except John Mulaney has a blah monologue. You're like that Japanese guy still fighting WWII.
Shane Gillis bombs #SNL monologue with cheap shots at women: “Also, I haven’t been to the gym in so long I didn’t know women just dress like wh*res now? Look, I’m sorry, there’s no other way to describe [it]. Have you seen it? I’ve seen it. You’ve seen the shorts? They’re those neon, like, artificial vape-colored [shorts], and the wrinkles go around the cheeks and all combine at the butth*le. And don’t look! You’re not allowed to look. For real, don’t look, because they are filming. I’m in the background of ten TikToks right now.”
