They couldn’t be 100 % sure that VSC will be activated….
Other question is why the VSC wasn’t activated immediately after Stroll stopped.
Alex Brundle was literally driving in WEC and Le Mans with slow zones affecting only one part of the track and random pack of random drivers.
Others were doing woooo hammertime 100 % throttle only because of pure luck with yellow flags and SC timing.

Very weird to read this from an actual racing driver. What next? Ask the rain to fall evenly during the whole qualifying session to make sure every driver gets the same amount of water?
VSC and SC are part of racing. Sometimes you gain from them and win races. Sometimes you lose because of them.
You deploy the SC immediately if it’s needed and bring it in immediately when the track is clear. The moment you start “waiting” for anybody to be fair is the moment you screw everything up.

For fuck sake @F1. You have to adapt your petty rulebook to some common sense. If you call VSC as the leader passes the Pits you keep the stupid thing going till he's also had the opportunity to stop and not simply give the race to second place on the stupid track you approved!
Apparently, track limits doesn’t count during the lap 1.
But they count during the Lap 1 when you are Oscar Piastri.
So they doesn’t count when you are Kimi Antonelli.
