🇺🇸 America is being remade faster than any developed nation in history, and the public was never actually asked... In 1980, the United States was 80% White. By 2050, White Americans are projected to become a minority for the first time in the country's history. By 2060, that figure falls to around 44%. That is a 36-point swing in 80 years. No other developed country has changed this fast, on this scale, with this little honest debate. The decisions that drove it came largely through immigration policy that was never really put to voters as a clear question. Whatever your view on the outcome, the process matters. The political map, the cultural institutions, and the national identity conversation are all being reshaped permanently, and the people living through it were mostly told to stop noticing.
