Rejecting Issue 9 and supporting Issue 8: Issue 9 dilutes district power, retains citywide coalitions. Issue 8 ensures direct accountability, strengthens local representation. In the November 3, 2026 election, we have two charter amendments on the ballot: Issue 8 and Issue 9. While both aim to reform the city council, Issue 9 is a sneaky way the current power structure is trying to dilute district power and retain their own. Let’s break it down. Issue 8 gets rid of citywide voting for individual district council seats, setting up nine geographically elected representatives who are directly accountable to their district voters. This is all about strengthening local accountability. Issue 9, on the other hand, keeps the same number of seats but mixes things up. It introduces district-only voting for nine seats while keeping citywide elections for four additional seats. This is a tricky one because it keeps the at-large seats, which historically have been bankrolled by rich and powerful interests. The concern is that Issue 9 is just a way to retain power by keeping citywide electoral coalitions. franklincountylp.substack.co…

In her own voice, in her own words, @marcykap torches any credibility she ever had with the LGBTQ community. Acton, Kaptur, what is the next vulnerable community @ohdems will throw under the bus?
#OH09: Incumbent Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D) is up on TV with this response spot -- Kaptur to camera: "We're stuck in another unnecessary war and inflation is making everything worse. But, my opponent won't talk about all that. He'd rather lie about my record" "Well, here's the truth. I voted with Republicans to keep transgender ideology out of our schools"

From FDR to Obama to Mamdani… politicians trash capitalism. Their words aren’t harmless says Economist Don Boudreaux. “Negative words... kept investors on the sidelines, kept unemployment higher.” Myths about Great Depression and Great Recession busted here:

Just published: “Don’t Gamble With Ohio’s Future” - Or Don’t Gamble With Ohioans’ Freedom? The “Ohioans to Protect Public Services” coalition isn’t protecting you - it’s protecting its own racket. Here’s why their fear campaign collapses and how voluntary endowments can replace property-tax extortion with stable, consent-based funding for schools, safety, and services. FTA/ a shiny new coalition calling itself “Ohioans to Protect Public Services” is warning that abolishing property taxes will cause chaos, higher sales/income taxes, and a “public safety crisis.” / Don't fall for it. Abolish Property Tax.
